London Competitions

London Competitions A Competition that Rates and Promotes Wine, Spirits and Beers by their Quality, Value & Packaging.

The London Competitions looks to recognise, reward, and help promote beverage brands that have successfully been created to identify with and target a specific drinker. For any wine, spirits, and beer brand to earn its place on a retailer’s shelf or a restaurant’s list - and then vitally stay there - they need to be marketable and consumer-driven and not just produced in the general hope it can find enough people willing to sell and buy it.

“Dealcoholization is not only a technical decision. It is a style decision, and it should start with the final wine profile the producer wants to achieve.” – Irem Eren, DipWSET

For the 10th landmark edition of the London Wine Competition, we’re pleased to welcome Irem Eren, DipWSET, Brand Ambassador for Solos Technology, to our judging panel.

In this exclusive interview, Irem goes deep into what it actually takes to build credible No & Low wine - how spinning cone, reverse osmosis and vacuum distillation affect the final wine differently, why aroma recovery is becoming critical, why producers are increasingly vinifying specifically for dealcoholization, where post-dealcoholization adjustment crosses from craft into correction, and how No & Low should be judged when traditional wine benchmarks no longer fit.

⬇️ Read the full interview on the London Wine Competition blog.

⌛ Enter the London Wine Competition 2027 and have your No & Low wines evaluated by Irem and leading UK trade buyers and wine professionals on the three factors that matter commercially - Quality, Value and Packaging.

“Carved in stone, aged in oak.”

Born in Venezuela’s Lara region, GAYÓN Rum is built around a philosophy of patience, permanence and respect for time.

Founded by Gabriel Jiménez, GAYÓN draws its identity from the ancient petroglyphs of the Gayón people - symbols carved into stone that have endured for generations. That same idea of permanence carries into the rum itself, where time and maturation in oak are central to its character.

The bottle brings that story to life, incorporating symbols inspired by Lara’s petroglyphs and connecting the region’s past with a contemporary Venezuelan rum.

At the 2026 London Spirits Competition, GAYÓN earned a Silver Medal with 88 points, recognised by the judges for its well-structured character, with vanilla, caramel, dried fruit, spice and subtle leather notes leading to a balanced, persistent finish.

As Gabriel puts it:

“We don't tell a story, we bottle a work of art.”

350 pubs. One buyer. Your beer on his radar. 🍺

Benedict Sedgwick, Beer Quality & Communications Specialist at Fuller, Smith & Turner, has just been confirmed as a judge at the London Beer Competition 2027.

Every pint poured across Fuller's estate of 350+ historic pubs across London and Southern England passes through his lens first. Quality, consumer appeal, commercial fit -Benedict has seen what works on the bar and what gets pulled off it. That kind of on-trade intelligence does not come from a textbook.

Benedict joins a panel that already includes buyers from Morrisons, Waitrose, and Ocado - the people whose decisions determine what lands on a supermarket shelf or a pub tap.

Entries for the 10th edition are open now. Super Early Bird closes 31 August 2026. 🍺

🌟 The London Wine, Spirits & Beer Competitions are back for their landmark 10th edition🌟

And if you have never entered before, here is what makes this competition different from everything else out there.

1st - Your product is judged by the people who actually buy that is people who decide what gets listed, recommended, and placed every single day in top chains.
2nd - We judge on Quality, Value, and most importantly Packaging.

And this year we have added three things that honestly make entering a no-brainer.
➡️ You will get feedback from our judges on how to improve your product.
➡️ You will see the names of the judges who actually evaluated your bottle.
➡️ You will receive a detailed market intelligence report built entirely from what our judges are currently buying, listing, and looking for in the international market right now.

Now here is the thing - we are called London Competitions but we are as international as it gets.

Our entrants come from every corner of the world and some of the most exciting wins have come from places nobody expected.

Like Rico Rico by Licores Don Mateo from Chile. 🇨🇱
They entered. They won Gold at 95 points at the London Spirits Competition. And here is what happened next - in their own words:

"The recognition itself was already extraordinary, but the media coverage and promotional support from the London Spirits Competition amplified its impact far beyond what we expected. The video and press coverage generated significant visibility in Chile, especially in the Antofagasta Region, where our distillery is located. Many people discovered our story through your communications, and since then the award has become one of the first things customers, partners, and distributors mention when they meet us."

Super Early Bird closes 31 August 2026. Enter now and save up to 25% on your entries. 👇

In this exclusive interview, Claudia shares why education is the industry's greatest investment, what separates brands that earn lasting respect behind the bar, how consumer buying and drinking habits are evolving, the growing role of AI and operational efficiency in hospitality, why authenticity matters more than polished sales pitches, and how producers can build stronger commercial relationships through industry events.

Speaking about the role of industry competitions, Claudia highlights the value of creating meaningful connections between producers and the trade:
