📲If my phone could talk, it would say go to in Cottonwood🚘✈️🌵
✨Crafted by an industry veteran, Corey Turnbull wants you to fall in love with Arizona wine. The Wren 2023 is his masterful blend of Vermentino, Roussanne, Marsanne, and Malvasia Bianca, and will surely entice you to reach for another sip.
📍🏜️Sourced from three vineyards - one in the Verde Valley and two in southern Arizona, this white wine amplifies the fact that stunning white wines are being produced here in the state.
Founded by Corey and his wife Hayley Meyer, these passionate Arizona residents founded Rubrix with a vision to craft elegant wines that reflect a defined sense of place.
📝Boasting depth and dimension, this is a serious white wine, with notes of baked yellow fruits, creosote, cardamom, and fresh herbs, framed atop a layered, weighty texture and puckery acidity.
❌😴Do not sleep on this wine ❌😴
You know what to do!! 👉👉Head to in Cottonwood or reach out to my friends at who are Rubrix Arizona distributors. You do not want to miss a sip of this wine.
✨Wines like this continue to spark my curiousity in Arizona. These are thoughtful, intentional, and balanced representations of wine that highlight our rugged desert terroir and astute personalities of our producers.
👉Have you tried Rubrix wines? If not, what are you waiting for?!

👀Look no further than this stunning Arizona red from .springs.cellars 👀
🍇Today, I popped open the Teroldego 2023 from the winery’s estate House Mountain Vineyard, located in the heart of the Verde Valley.
💓 Bestill my beating heart 💓
🍀I was lucky enough to snag this bottle during my last visit to their winery and TBH, part of me wanted to keep it a secret. With only 51 cases of this wine produced, it is a highly limited offering. After some internal deliberation, I decided that it’s no fun to gatekeep these incredible wines- so let’s talk about it!
🍇Teroldego is a grape variety that originates in the Trentino Alto Adige / Südtirol, a northerly Italian wine region that borders Austria. The grape is related to Dureza, a parent of Syrah, and is one of the earliest ripening grapes for Page Springs Cellars.
🇮🇹In terms of production, 96% of Teroldego hails from Italy, with scant plantings in Australia and California. With all this being said, you can imagine my surprise when I discovered that it is planted and produced in Arizona 🏜️
🍷Clocking in at 13.1% alcohol, this red wine is lithe, light on its feet, and beautifully nuanced, with a backbone of black fruits layered atop a verdant, umami core. On the palate, the wine boasts soft, powdery tannins, freshness, and integrated acidity, keeping it subtle, yet offering complexity and dimension.
🍷Be sure to seek out this bottle at Page Springs Cellars on your next trip to the Verde Valley. Wines like this are an excellent representation of the burgeoning wine scene here in the southwest.
👏Bravo to the team at PSC- this Teroldego has been firmly planted in my heart and I’ll be back up soon to stock up on more ❤️

✨Five years (and one day) ago, we landed in Tucson, Arizona.
🗽Two Long Islanders who had spent 3 years in the Czech Republic and three years in Raleigh, NC, decided to take a turn to the southwest. Somehow, we stumbled along and planted ourselves in the Sonoran Desert 🏜️
😮‍💨My life looks a little different now than it did when we got here. To catch y’all up- I’m now the Director of Sales at the and am excited about the journey ahead. It feels great to be back in hotels and hospitality and I continue to reminisce about my days at Novotel New York Times Square 🗽🫶
🐰❤️My rock, , has seen me through a true Tucson evolution, and I am so thankful to have had his support along the way.
🥳Tonight, Jim and I celebrate with the bottle of wine that changed our trajectory - Clos Guirouilh Jurançon Sec, a magical white wine that made Jim fall in love with white wine (and with me!) when we first met at 11 years ago.
🇫🇷🥂This Basque delight is a blend of two white grape varieties, Gros Manseng and Petit Courbu, and has remained a staple in our lives throughout our relationship. If you haven’t tried it before, give it a shot- it’s one of my favorites!
✨Five years goes fast. Tonight, we drink our wine slowly. But don’t worry- I’m planning some fun wine events which will be taking place at the resort!
🔜Stay tuned to this dial 🤳
✨Bonus snap 📸- Swipe to the end to see us as Tucson newbies on day 1- May 12, 2021. Who are those kids?! 🤪😉

Steiermark stole my heart ❤️🇦🇹
👇Quick facts about this magnificent Austrian wine producing region 🇦🇹
🌍📍Located in the Southeast corner of Austria, bordering Slovenia 🇸🇮
🌱4,633 hectares
3️⃣ DAC’s- Vulkanland Steiermark, Südsteiermark, Weststeiermark
⛰️ Formed from the ancient tectonic movement of the Central Eastern Alps, from the Penninic and Eastern Alpine geological units.
🌬️Influenced by the Sausal and Koralpe ranges, and the winds from the Styrian Basin and Pannonian Basin
🌧️The region receives some of the highest rainfall in Austria, averaging 1,200 mm/year, creating challenging conditions for vineyards management
☀️🌑 summertime diurnal variations (warm days, cool night) enhances acidity and freshness in wines
🪨 Schist, sedimentary rock, limestone, opok (calcareous marl), volcanic stone, sand
🍇 Dominates in white grape varieties-
Welschriesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Morillon (Chardonnay), Gelber Muskateller, Grauburgunder, Weissburgunder, Traminer, Schilcher.
🛑 Unlike other parts of Austria, you will NOT find Grüner Veltliner here!
🏆STK- Steirische Terroir & Klassik- a group of 12 producers that have defined Grand Cru, Premier Cru, Single Vineyard, Village, and Regional Wine Classifications.
👋 Hand harvested grapes
🥂Specific aging and release date requirements
🇦🇹🪨 Typical varieties that reflect the Styrian terroir
🍽️Buschenschank - a typical Styrian gastronomical tradition where farms and wineries offer guests cold plates, comprising house cured meats, cheeses, pickled vegetables, fruits, artisanal breads. Buschenschanks may only sell cold dishes, juices and wine, produced from their fruit. Coffee, beer, and hot dishes are not permitted to be sold.
Fun fact- 🎃Pumpkin seed oils are a specialty of the region!
⛰️☀️🌱The steep, mountainous slopes, high elevation, higher UV exposure, proximity to the Alps, kaleidoscope of soil types, and meticulous vineyard work allow for fresh, vibrant, exciting wines.

🇦🇹The Wachau is an Austrian wine growing region located approximately 1.5 hours west of Vienna. The area was shaped over millenia by the Danube river, carving its path and shaping the landscape into hillside terraced slopes.
🪨Old, crystalline solid rock like gneisses, amphibolites, marbles, loess, and quartzites dominate the soil structure, providing the ideal growing conditions for Riesling and Grüner Veltliner, amongst other notable grape varieties.
🏞️The climate here is shaped by the Danube River, the eastern Pannonian winds, the Western Atlantic, and the cool, northerly winds from the Waldviertel.
The area is relatively small, with under 1,500 ha dedicated to vine.
📍Major villages include Loiben, Dürnstein, Spitz, Rossatz, Weißenkirchen, Joching, Wösendorf, and others.
🇦🇹Vinea Wachau Nobilis Districtus - a member based organization established in 1985 has defined the dry, unchapitalized styles of wine in the region. Roughly 200 members make up this organization that has helped pave the fame of the region, defining the protocols and qualities of Wachau wine, including the lack of new oak influence and the mandatory use of hand harvesting.
🇦🇹Three categories of wine can be produced as per the regulations of the Vinea Wachau, determined by the natural alcohol content of the wine:
🪶Steinfeder - fragrant, light, high acid wines with up to 11.5% alcohol
🐦‍⬛Federspiel- medium bodied, more character-driven wines, with mineral and saline tones, with alcohol levels between 11.5%-12.5%
🦎Smaragd - fuller bodied, unctuous, spicy wines, with exceptional aging potential and minimum alcohol levels of 12.5%
🇦🇹The Wachau DAC was established in 2020 by the Ministry of Agriculture, Regions, & Tourism. The Wachau DAC categorizes the region’s wine into -
Gebietswein - Regional Wines
Ortswein - Villages Wine
Riedenwein - Single Vineyard wine - can only be used for Grüner Veltliner and Riesling.
🌎Amongst other attractions, the region is a World Heritage Site, and is popular for river cruises, cyclists, families, foodies, and nature lovers.
🇦🇹Wachau wines are complex, terroir-driven, and are a reflection of the region’s history and landscape.

🇨🇿Seven years ago, in the heart of South Moravia, I decided to launch Civil Wines- a social media platform to help connect English speakers with the world of wine in the Czech Republic. This decision swept me into a universe of vineyards, producers, cellars, and friends.
🏜️While my landscape may have changed since moving to Arizona in 2021, my mission has not wavered- To create a welcoming and inclusive space that facilitates engagement, change, and growth by inciting passion at the intersection of wine, place, and people.
🤍Over the past two weeks, I have had the chance to reconnect with the people and places that encouraged me through it all.
🇨🇿Brno, the city that held my hand through good days and bad, helped me charter new territory, providing me the space and the inspiration to stay courageous, honest, and authentic.
🇦🇹Austria opened up its arms and its bottles, with thoughtful producers who guided me through deep dives of the wine regions of Wachau and Steiermark. I wasn’t expecting to have learned so much about these stunning landscapes and cherished history.
💕I’ve spent the last two weeks with friends, both old and new, helping me to rediscover myself and my goals. I’m returning to Arizona with a stronger sense of self and a refreshed perspective on friendship and on wine.
🙏Not many people have had the opportunity to live or even travel abroad. This is not lost on me. I’m eternally grateful to have had the ability and the energy to make this solo trip back to Central Europe, with a partner who took care of our home and our pup while I was away ❤️
💕If I can share one take away from this trip, it’s to remember that curiousity, health, and friendship should always come first.
❤️I didn’t realize how much I needed this trip.
From Ohio, to Austria, to the Czech Republic- what a joyful two weeks it has been. Thank you to my friends for your generosity and your love 🥰
✈️See you soon, Tucson 🌵🏜️

😮‍💨The past week has propelled me into a whirlwind exploration of the terroirs of Wachau and Steiermark in Austria. But something curious happened on Tuesday that I feel compelled to share with you.
A Styrian white wine brought me to tears.
During my tasting at , I had the opportunity to sample the Ried Zieregg Kapelle Sauvignon Blanc 2022. Unlike their other offerings, which were all spectacular, there was something in this particular single vineyard wine that immediately triggered sensations of familiarity, of comfort, of joy.
✨I don’t know how it happened, but with one sip, vivid childhood memories came gushing forward like a waterfall. Suddenly, I had the memory of slurping lemonade as a wide-eyed five year old on my front stoop after an afternoon spent at the beach, anxiously waiting for the neighborhood block party to begin.
The saline tones in the wine converged with lifted citrus, spearmint, and wildflowers. The slightly creamy texture reminded me of the ice cream pops that I devoured in my youth. These harmonious flavors and aromas were no longer tasting notes, but were manifested into memories somehow born into this wine.
Basically, this wine blindsided me, shaking out memories that were deeply lodged in my soul. Maybe it was the setting. Maybe it was the fact that I was sitting across from my dear friends whom I hadn’t seen in years. But we had tasted other wines together and I hadn’t had this reaction until I sipped the Ried Zieregg Kapelle from Weingut Tement.
For some, this may sound cliche, but wine harnesses power. Great wines demonstrate authority. Superior wines invite your senses on a journey, navigating you on a winding path that evoke memories lodged deep in your subconscious.
🇦🇹❤️I wasn’t planning on bringing a wine home with me to the US, but I knew I couldn’t leave Steiermark without this bottle.
🙏Weingut Tement, thank you for crafting profoundly compelling wine. In twenty years, I hope I can always recall that very moment when your wine brought me to tears in your tasting room on a sunny April morning in Steiermark.

💕When and I exchanged our wedding vows on September 15, 2017, I told him, “Thank you for letting me be me.” This was about the moment I burst into happy tears, realizing that this handsome man will forever be my partner, my equal, my love.
Since this joyous day, my husband Jim has supported me wholeheartedly in every endeavor, from launching Civil Wines in Brno, to hosting online tastings, to onboarding with my various jobs in Tucson, and so much more.
When I approached him about taking this solo trip, Jim didn’t hesitate in saying yes. In fact, he helped me book my flights and arrange my itinerary. That’s a real man right there, am I right ladies?
💕His love towards me still gives me goosebumps and I am so grateful to have found a partner that supports me in every facet of life. I’m not perfect and neither is he. But we recognize this, and continue to work together, imperfectly, to support each other with work, life, and love.
Shoutout and so much 💕 for , my 🍯🐰, for being the most loving, kind, and supportive partner and daddy to .
I’m missing my boys every minute but I’m so grateful to have the chance to reconnect with my longtime friends from around the world.
🍷Back to wine soon!
👉Austria- coming to you on Wednesday - ✈️🔜🇦🇹 Next Monday, back to 🇨🇿 to see my přátele 🥂 in Brno.
Just wanted to take a moment for the world to know that all my wine stuff wouldn’t exist without this man right here. I love you, Jim. Thank you for letting me be me, and for encouraging me to take this trip ❤️

📢I’m overdue for a life update, so here we go. Buckle up, friends.
Tuesday, April 07th will be my last day slinging American single malt at Whiskey Del Bac 🥃
On May 04, I will become the new Director of Sales for the Tubac Golf Resort and Spa. This challenging hospitality role will combine my experience in travel, communications, sales, and strategic leadership, and I am thrilled to be re-entering hotel life. Not only will I have the ability to work with a fantastic team to promote the resort and southern Arizona, I will be contributing my expertise with the F&B department to develop an exciting, robust wine program that we can share with our community.
✈️🇦🇹🇨🇿Now, for the fun news - During my work hiatus, I’M TRAVELING BACK TO AUSTRIA AND THE CZECH REPUBLIC! ✈️🎉🍾
I’ll be heading to Vienna, Wachau, and Steiermark to visit wineries, connect with friends, and have a real, ‘laptop closed’ break.

From Austria, I’ll be heading to BRNO in CZ for a few days 🎉 where I’ll reconnect with my wonderful friends in South Moravia 🇨🇿🎉
🌵Whenever people recognize me in Tucson, it’s either from Time Market, Tap & Bottle/Westbound, or Whiskey Del Bac 🥰🍾🍷🥃
I love them all equally ❤️ and am proud to have put the Arielle-Stamp on them all 😉
🥃 I will forever be grateful to Whiskey Del Bac for giving me the autonomy to create meaningful, community driven events that connect a diverse audience here in Tucson.
Personally, at Whiskey Del Bac it was important for me that “community support” was not just lip service. I sought out nonprofit partners, ideated cause marketing strategies to create fundraising initiatives to drive community resources together to benefit the common good.
Resilience comes from community and collaboration. We need this now.
I know would agree! ❤️🌵🥃
Anyway. That’s my life update.
See you soon, 🇨🇿🇦🇹✈️

The girl from Massapequa who desperately struggled to get a B in Biology in middle school just guest lectured at the University of Arizona’s Environmental and Natural Sciences Department. The irony is not lost on me.
I did something I never thought I’d be capable (or qualified) to do. Yesterday, I was the guest lecturer at a 400/500 level class in the Plant Sciences School at the UA 🤩
Speaking in front of large audiences is nothing new to me. I’ve had opportunities to present in front of customers and wine industry folks before, but I never thought that I’d find myself in a University classroom presenting Arizona wine to an international cohort of students.
My goal for this lecture was to not only cover the nuances of Arizona viticulture, but to inspire young undergraduate and graduate students to realize that there may be a spot in the wine industry for them. That their field work in arid farming, or their graduate thesis on grafting, may lead to a career in enology. Or, perhaps their studies in plant physiology could lead to a future path at UC Davis or Cornell, universities that offer robust viticulture programs.
Looking back, I wish that this situation had happened to me as a student. I spent years struggling in science classes, investing hours at extra help desperately trying to comprehend the lifecycles of plants and ecology. I never grasped the concept that there were tangible connections to a non-scientific career nascent to the science community. For me, science class just seemed so abstract and irrelevant. I ended up with a French BA and moved on from academia.
During my presentation yesterday, I hoped to impart a level of familiarity with the students, for them to ponder the notion that wine is science, viticulture is farming, and Arizona has a burgeoning wine culture that they can be a part of.
🙏Many thanks to Dr. Eric Lyons and Dr. Ramin Yadegari for inviting me to their class. It was an honor to share my insights and perspectives of Arizona wine with your students.
Mr. Shapiro, my 8th grade Bio teacher, would be proud.
