They used to come every week for kimbap. The little boy always holding ticket number one. They were a lovely family from Singapore.

When they left the UK last year, we were so sad. We even cried because we had become so close over the years.

Today, we had the most wonderful surprise—they came all the way to Venn St Market to see us.

In Korea, we have a word called Jeong (정). It describes the deep affection and bond that grows between people over time. That’s exactly how we felt. When they left, I missed them so much.

Seeing them again today reminded us that food is not just about eating—it brings people together and creates lasting relationships.

There will be no Kimbap on Thursdays, but we’ll be serving our Korean-style Japchae and salad with homemade pickled cabbage 🥗✨

🥢 Japchae – Korean sweet potato glass noodles stir-fried with fresh vegetables.
🥔 Spud Salad – creamy potato salad with cucumber, sweet corn, pickled cabbage and carrot.
