So this September my very first published essay appears in Humans Of The World Blog, and I facilitate at my first for women, so when my eyes rested upon this poster by while checking out in Shoreditch it felt like a mandate and a wonderfully reassuring message.

My time here has been chock full of little notes from the universe, gentle nudges from my subconscious as well as constructive bitch slaps from the ancestors.

I got some good news last week and I immediately minimized it. A wonderful friend pointed this out, chiding me - with love - for trying to downplay my accomplishment and success.

Undoubtedly this knee-jerk reaction stems from years of external conditioning as well as internal negative self talk. But now I’m ready to celebrate and shout it from the rooftops:

I submitted an essay to an online journal AND IT WAS ACCEPTED FOR PUBLICATION!

Oh wait… I have to tell you where to find it?
It’s coming, I promise .

I will tell you guys what started as a birthday letter to my Son, wound up getting submitted to an online journal instead. Upon learning of their intention to publish the piece, it occurred to me that I never actually gave a copy of the letter to Isaiah.
Soon enough, Son. Soon enough.
