Conversation is important. What happens next matters more.

After attending Sustainability in Drinks 2025, Judith Batchelar OBE reflected on a day she described as “truly first class” — but also on one frustration: there simply wasn’t enough time to continue all the discussions and debates that had begun.

In the latest Knowledge Hub article, Judith looks at how the drinks industry can move those conversations forward — from shared standards and actionable data to credible sustainability claims, policy and greater international collaboration.

At the heart of it is a simple idea: knowledge becomes more powerful when it’s shared.

As Judith puts it, “if you want to go fast go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.”

That thinking sits at the heart of SID: bringing people with different expertise and perspectives into the same room, not simply to discuss the challenges, but to explore what can happen next.
