Don't throw away your used coffee grounds - they are great for your garden!

Cool them and then pop them straight out into the garden or mix in with compost.

Coffee is nutrient rich!

Containing valuable nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus - the nutrients plants love - coffee makes a wonderful green material that is great for your garden.

When you add spent coffee grounds to your compost heap, you're giving your soil a genuine nutrient boost. The coffee grounds break down to release nitrogen, potassium, and phosphorus, the three macronutrients that plants rely on most.

Coffee grounds also improve the texture of your soil, are a great pest repellent, and because you are saving them from landfill, help do a tiny wee bit to reduce methane.

We visited the beautiful St Joseph's Retreat House in the New Forest, home to the Montfort Fathers in the UK, to meet up with our old friend, Fr Aswini.

The Montfort Fathers manage our coffee estate in India and in addition to a management fee, a share of profits goes towards supporting their charities across India, including the Anugraha Home for Girls which supports those in need of stability and an education.

Every pack of our coffee you buy offers offers kindness in every cup, so thank you!

Our coffee comes with our love and the Montfort Fathers' special blessing, making our coffee, truly blesséd!

Thank you for your support!

When will we get a (coffee) break?

You are not going to believe this, but our coffee has got stuck… again.

Remember those happy days when our coffee came over and sold out faster than we could have dreamt possible?

Well after that we had a bit of bad luck. Our coffee got lost in the post and then, well, then we got tied up with Indian red tape.

Finally, earlier this year we thought things were actuqlly moving. We found an exporter who could help us export our very small batches of coffee to the UK. Hooray!

We got the coffee ready (tick). It passed all the tests & got the certificates (tick). Our exporter sent it to his agent to courier it over, and then…

Then, the tracking showed that it… hadn't moved an inch.

Why? Well, the agent reckons it's because of the trouble in the Gulf, & so, they have to go via Germany, but Germany isn't allowing it to transit…. Hmm… That's what he says, but maybe (maybe) the dog also ate his homework?

In any case, what that means for us is that our exporter has to find another courier who can guarantee delivery to the UK… and that will take a bit of time more…

So please bear with us. This coffee can do so much good - a share of profits goes towards supporting social & environmental charities in India and the UK. And our coffee is rather lovely.
So please continue to send us your prayers and good wishes. They help so much.

Thank you

Happy 100th Birthday Dear Sir David Attenborough!

A century of watching, documenting and warning — and through it all, never losing hope that we can still turn things around.

I've grown up watching his programmes and found them to be truly inspirational. We really share in his belief that we can all do our bit to help mother Earth in our everyday lives and the way that we grow our coffee reflects that.

We were immensely proud to be the 100th business to sign the Brent Climate Charter as
featured in Your Brent Magazine, Spring 2026. 🌿

Functional Coffee Trends!

There are a couple of things you can guarantee about coffee. One, people need it in their lives. And two, it's always being reinvented.

Right now, you've probably seen all kinds of trendy coffees:

☕️ mushroom coffee

☕️ collagen coffee blends

☕️ protein shot coffees

☕️ adaptogenic coffee,

☕️ and the big, 'matcha v coffee' debate.

These are often marketed as "functional" - designed to improve focus, gut health, or energy.

But here's the interesting thing!

South Indian Coffee, (like our very own Kaaphi), is traditionally blended with chicory, and has been doing the functional thing for generations - just quietly and without the branding.

☕️ Supporting gut health through its inulin content.

☕️ Creating a lower caffeine blend.

☕️ Producing a smoother, less harsh cup.

Happy Earth Day from Kanathi Coffee Estate, home to The Montfort Fathers, our lovely associates who work with us to produce The Blesséd Brew Coffee.

We think the bird song you can hear is a good indication of how happy nature is living here on the estate, because we grow Indian Speciality Coffee that's kind to the environment, kind to nature, and kind to the workers who help grow it.

Happy Earth Day!

Love from,

The Blesséd Brew xx

How Indian Speciality Coffee Grows | Part 3

We use traditional farming methods, like hand-picking our coffee, to ensure its sustainability.

Every coffee cherry is picked by hand and our workers are treated with care and respect, and are fairly paid.

This is how The Blesséd Brew begins.
