Our Great Grandfather Luigi Diforti started creating antipasti in Caltanissetta (a little village in Sicily) and he sold olives and pesto to the local village families.
1939
Our Grandfather Salvatore Diforti followed in his father’s footsteps and started supplying to local restaurants, family kitchens, delicatessens and grocery stores all across Sicily. He also expanded the family business
by opening 3 delis in “’Strada Foglia’” – the most renowned and prestigious food market in Caltanissetta.
1974
After 99 years of supplying antipasti, olives and pesto to restaurants and delicatessens within Italy, our father Giuliano Diforti decided to expand the family business. His vision was to bring our delicious Sicilian flavours to food lovers outside of Italy. As he embarked on this journey he quickly realised people wanted more than just olives and pesto. So together with our father, we (Carlo, Andrea and Francesca) started searching for the best artisan producers of cheese, cured meats, fruit, nuts, pastries and he exported them to the UK and supplied delicious antipasti to delicatessens and restaurants all over England.
2005
We officially took over the business from our father in 2005 and have continued our family tradition of bringing the highest quality antipasti from the Mediterranean to the UK.
2016
Over the last 10+ years we have expanded our production facility and today we are able to package and export direct to customers (yes that’s you!) because we want to make eating antipasti really easy, accessible and affordable. Our online store has 200+ delicious artisan products from the Mediterranean and we are constantly innovating and coming up with new recipes because we believe flavours and textures should evolve and no two antipasti boards should ever be the same.
