President Donald J. Trump Concludes a Historic Visit to Malaysia - Declares Local Cuisine “Tremendous, Absolutely the Best in Asia.”

KUALA LUMPUR - Following high-level meetings at the ASEAN Summit, President Donald J. Trump made what he called his “most delicious diplomatic decision yet” - sampling Malaysia’s world-famous dishes in a late-night food tour across Kuala Lumpur.

"The food here - it’s tremendous. The rice, the chicken, the peanuts - all winners. Nobody does breakfast like Malaysia,” President Trump said, referring to Nasi Lemak, which he praised as “a strong dish - Amazing rice, strong sambal - a little fiery, like CNN”

President Trump was also seen enjoying Roti Canai, Beef Rendang, and Char Kway Teow (Penang duck egg edition), describing the wok hei (smoky flames) as “a beautiful sight - Tremendous energy, great for business.”

When offered Teh Tarik, the President reportedly requested “kurang manis, 3 times” calling it “probably the best deal I’ve made all day.”

The President concluded the night at a local mamak stall, where he was served Mee Goreng Mamak, Satay Kajang, and Chendol (prepared by PAS, malaysia top opposition party) - which he declared “the best ice in Asia, believe me.”

In a statement, the Malaysian Prime Minister’s Office noted,
“This visit strengthened bilateral ties - and possibly cholesterol.”

The President complimented: “Malaysia has the best food, folks, no contest. Great country. Tremendous food. You guys know how to win."

🇲🇾✨ Malaysian food has officially been crowned the MOST DELICIOUS at Osaka World Expo 2025! 🎉

In a special “Expo Gourmet” survey by Japan’s Yomiuri TV, Malaysian cuisine was ranked No.1, beating out Australia, Germany, France, and many more.

The Malaysian Pavilion at the Expo 2025 had already gone viral earlier for its flying roti canai, which sells out daily, about 1,500/pc of roti canai. 🍽️ Local Japanese visitors have even been queuing for over 2 hours just to savour this beloved staple! 🥰

📅 Expo 2025 runs until 13 October 2025, so there’s still time to experience the hype!

Nasi lemak is a traditional Malaysian dish and one of the country’s most beloved meals. The name “nasi lemak” translates to “rich or creamy rice,” which refers to the rice cooked in coconut milk and pandan leaves, giving it a fragrant and slightly creamy texture. Traditionally, it’s served with a variety of sides: spicy sambal (a chili paste), crispy fried anchovies, roasted peanuts, hard-boiled or fried egg, and cucumber slices.

Some variations may include fried chicken, beef rendang, or other sides, making it even more filling. Nasi lemak is commonly enjoyed as a breakfast dish, but it’s so popular that Malaysians eat it at any time of day.
