💥Rum Cocktails Done Right!💥

We can’t fly the Rum Club to the British Virgin Islands this week… but we can bring that bold Caribbean swagger straight to Richmond with the iconic Pusser’s Painkiller.

This time the photo isn’t Havana or Barbados, it’s our own line‑up of Painkiller mugs and Pusser’s Gunpowder Proof Rum, the navy‑strength spirit that gives this cocktail its unmistakable depth.

Born in the 1970s at the Soggy Dollar Bar on Jost Van D**e, the Painkiller became a legend thanks to its rich rum base and a recipe so good it has long been trademarked.

It’s tropical indulgence in a glass... the kind of drink that makes you slow down, smile, and forget you ever owned a winter coat.

It’s one of three cocktails we’ll explore, from origins to technique, so you can make them confidently at home for the Bank Holiday weekend.

Come through for good vibes, great rum, and a taste of the islands.

💥 Rum Cocktails Done Right! 💥

We can’t fly the Rum Club to Havana next week… but we can bring Havana energy straight to Richmond with a Classic Cuban Mojito.

This photo is of us outside La Bodeguita Del Medio Cuba 🇨🇺, the legendary Havana bar that helped make the Mojito world‑famous and immortalised by Hemingway in the line:

“Mi mojito en La Bodeguita, mi daiquirí en El Floridita.”

Mint, lime, rum... Cuban sunshine in a glass.

It’s one of three cocktails we’ll explore, from origins to technique, so you can make them confidently at home for the Bank Holiday weekend.

💥Rum Cocktails Done Right! 💥

We can’t take Richmond Rum Club to Barbados next week… but we can bring a slice of Barbados to you by showing everyone how to make a proper, classic Barbados Rum Punch.

This photo is the Rum Punch from ECO Lifestyle + Lodge in Bathsheba, Barbados and we’ll be doing our best to match that, at the very least.

It’s one of three cocktails we’ll be diving into: their origins, how they developed, and of course how to make your own at home.

National Rum Day 2026 🥃

A little recap on some fantastic nights and fantastic rums shown at Richmond Rum Club so far this year!!

We aim to showcase some of the truly great rum that is out in the world that you may not even realise is there.

Rum is the most diverse and unique spirit in the world and if you want to appreciate what that means and experience it for yourselves then check out the link in our BIO and come and enjoy the fun.

📸 A look back to our "Rums of Grenada" focus session in May 2025.

We did a little run through of some of the range from Grenada Distillers Ltd. and finished with the beast that is River Antoine Rum Distillery

One of our most enjoyable sessions, where we get to showcase the stark contrast available between two distilleries on the same island!

Like a lot of the rums we showcase at Richmond Rum Club these are not easy (and sometimes impossible) to get hold of in the UK, so if you have that interest in rum or want to explore something different then we are a great starting point!

💥Rum Cocktails Done Right!💥

We’ve got a seriously fun evening lined up for our August session, a rum cocktail masterclass designed with the Bank Holiday Weekend firmly in mind.

Whether you’re firing up a BBQ, heading to a festival, or dipping into anything Notting Hill Carnival related, we’ll arm you with three easy, delicious rum cocktails to carry you through the weekend (and beyond).

We’ll break down the history and evolution of each drink so you get a proper appreciation of where they come from, then show you how to make them in a few simple steps.

🍍 Barbados Rum Punch
An island classic with its own rhyme. Every hotel and bar in Barbados has their own version.

🌿 Classic Mojito (Cuban‑style)
Crisp, refreshing, and built the traditional way.

🥥 Painkiller
A modern classic with a trademarked name and a brilliant backstory.

For this Summer Bank Holiday special RRC, we’re dropping the price to £15 (plus admin) for the session, so that's £5 a cocktail and all the fun is free 😊

For anyone looking to expand their rum knowledge, learn to throw together a couple of cocktails or just looking for some mid-week good vibes then see the details below.
