Haddock & Prawn Fish Pie Recipe:
Ingredients:
500g haddock fillets
250g prawns, peeled and deveined
1kg potatoes, peeled and chopped
100g butter
100g flour
600ml milk
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
100g grated cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
*Instructions:*
1.Prepare the Filling:
Preheat the oven to 200ยฐC (392ยฐF).
In a saucepan, melt 50g of butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and garlic, sautรฉing until translucent.
Stir in the flour to create a roux, cooking for 2 minutes.
Gradually whisk in the milk, creating a smooth sauce.
Add the haddock fillets to the sauce, cooking until they begin to flake.
Gently fold in the prawns, cooking until they turn pink.
Season with salt, pepper, and parsley.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
2. Prepare the Mashed Potato Topping:
Boil the potatoes until tender.
Drain and mash with the remaining butter and a splash of milk until creamy.
Season with salt and pepper.
3. Assemble and Bake:
Spread the mashed potatoes over the fish mixture, creating an even layer.
Sprinkle the grated cheddar cheese on top.
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and bubbling.
4. Serve:
Allow to cool slightly before serving.
Garnish with additional parsley if desired.
