Tariq Halal Meats has always been more than the name above our stores. Our customers, colleagues, suppliers and families form a community built over generations.

Through our partnership with the British Asian Trust, we intend to direct that collective strength towards one of Pakistan’s most urgent, yet least visible, challenges: mental health.

No single organisation can create lasting change alone. But when communities come together—with compassion, purpose and a willingness to act—their combined impact can be extraordinary.

This partnership is only the beginning. We look forward to taking our community on the journey with us.

Together, our community can change lives.

An estimated one in four people in Pakistan experience a mental health issue. Yet 90% of those who need treatment are unable to access the support they require.

These figures represent millions of individuals, families and communities living with challenges that too often remain unseen, misunderstood or untreated.

This is why Tariq Halal Meats is proud to stand alongside the British Asian Trust: an organisation working to reduce stigma, increase awareness and improve access to community-based mental health services across Pakistan.

Mental health should never be a conversation people are afraid to have—or a struggle they are expected to face alone.

Together, we want to help bring that conversation into the open.

Some partnerships are commercial. Others carry a far deeper responsibility.

Yesterday marked an important milestone as our Founder and Chairman, Tariq Sheikh, formally signed Tariq Halal Meats’ partnership with the British Asian Trust alongside Asif Rangoonwala CBE, Vice-Chair of the Trust.

In Pakistan, an estimated one in four people experience mental health issues, yet around 90% of those who need treatment cannot access the support they require. Too many people continue to struggle in silence because of stigma, limited awareness and a shortage of services.

Through our first formal UK charity partnership, we will use our branches, digital platforms and trusted relationship with communities to raise awareness, challenge stigma and support the British Asian Trust’s vital mental health work in Pakistan.

Mental health cannot be helped through silence. Together, we want to bring this conversation into homes, shops and everyday life—helping more people seek support without fear or shame.

This is more than an announcement. It is the beginning of a meaningful and lasting commitment.
