Forest Wines

Forest Wines We are an independent local wine shop in Walthamstow, E17. Specialising in organic and natural wines, craft beer and selected spirits.

We came to create Forest Wines because the local wine shop we wanted did not exist in Walthamstow. We were after a place that would offer drinks for every occasion - simple wines for the everyday table, great wines for those special occasions, and craft beers and selected spirits for everything in between. We wanted a place that’s a product of passion, where we could stop by and pick up a bottle on our way from work, chat to someone who knows their products, and get a sense of a local community. We created Forest Wines to be all that. We source our wines from the ‘Old World’ - France, Italy, and Spain. But we also like to offer our customers something out of the usual range, from less known regions and countries like Georgia and Austria. When it comes to beers we focus on the great craft beer being produced in East London, with one from Walthamstow’s own micro-brewery, The Wild Card, we are also preparing a small selection of craft beers from France, soon to hit our shelves. Majority of our wines are natural, either organically or biodynamically produced, fermented with indigenous yeast, and made with a minimum interventions from the picking in the vineyard all the way to the bottle. We are simply after quality, natural produce and diversity. We taste and carefully select all our wines before they go on our shelves. We really treat our selection of wines as if we were stocking up our own wine racks, so everything you find in our shop is wine and beer we would happily drink ourselves. Thanks to all the testing and tasting we are here to help you navigate through the maze of ‘natural wines’, ‘terroirs’ & ‘food pairing’ - whatever the occasion just drop in and see us on Forest Road, E17. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to call us at the the shop. We have big plans for future and hope to share our passion with all of you in and around Walthamstow with home deliveries on two wheels, regular wine tastings and online shop.

💫 What’s New? Let’s chat about some new bottles on the shelves.

Intellego. Swartland, South Africa
Jurgen Gouws started Intellego in 2009, based in the Paardeberg area of the Swartland, he works with organic growers across the region. His walls are covered in the names of favourite musicians and DJs; his w**es are pure Swartland energy in a bottle.
A sparkling Pinotage and a chillable classic French blend are a must try!

11 Pinos, La Mancha, Spain
A fourth-generation family w**ery in Casas-Ibáñez that has been farming the same land since 1905. Their vineyards sit at 750 metres in a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve.
Red Bobal with ark cherry and plum, makes the perfect autumn w**e. And we also have their bargain entry level orange in. Super expressive and aromatic.

Domaine Durrmann, Alsace, France
The Durrmann family has been farming organically in the village of Andlau since 1979, piecing together abandoned vineyard plots on steep Vosges mountain slopes that no one else wanted — and making something quietly extraordinary from them.
We have the new vintages just in of their whites, orange and red Pinot Noir.

Provence rosé is wonderful. But there’s a whole world of pale, dry, really good rosé being made beyond the south of France - and with another heatwave upon us, this feels like exactly the right moment to let you know about this yummy w**es!

La Rosa Can Sumoi, Catalonia
Pepe Raventós spotted a derelict 17th-century finca on a bike ride and founded Can Sumoi with his childhood friend Francesc. La Rosa is a blend of Sumoll and Xarel-lo grown 600 metres above sea level, with views stretching to the Mediterranean - aromatic, lively and one of our most-reached-for bottles of the season.

Pink Judith Beck, Burgenland, Austria
Judith Beck took over her family’s biodynamic estate on the shores of Lake Neusiedl and never looked back. A blend of Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch and St. Laurent - crisp and strawberry-bright. Austrian rosé doesn’t get enough credit.

En Cabeza Rosé, Luca Hodgkinson, Chile
Born in Barcelona, trained in Toulouse and Bordeaux, and now making w**e in Chile with zero additives and zero compromise. The En Cabeza is from the soils between the Andes and the Pacific - pale, fresh and full of red fruit with a Provence-like precision and a coastal mineral edge.

Oniric Rosat, Entre Vinyes, Catalonia
Maria and Pep started from scratch in 2012, rescuing old vineyards and restoring the ecosystem around them. Their Oniric Rosat is pale, zesty and packed with strawberry, raspberry and redcurrant, with a touch of fresh herbs and mouthwatering acidity.

Rosé Tillingham, East Sussex
We saved the best until last. From a biodynamic farm in the East Sussex hills - English hedgerow flowers and summer fruit on the nose, bright and refreshing on the palate with a long, elegant finish. The English rosé that might just change how you think about English rosé.

Rosé, but make it bubbly
