Masterclass at Grand Champagne Helsinki: a rare vertical tasting of Pol Roger’s Sir Winston Churchill cuvée, hosted by 6th-generation family member Bastien Collard de Billy 🥂

The standout moments were the Vinotheque 1999 and 1998 vintages, both showing a delicate reductive edge, if served blind you would think they were from magnums. Think fine notes of gunflint layered with expressive fruit, evolving into beautifully concentrated dried citrus: lemon, grapefruit, and vibrant orange peel around a core of stone fruit.

What makes them unforgettable is their balance — freshness, precision, and a lingering energy that keeps drawing you back for another sip.
