We were offered investment. We said no.
Not because we think investment is bad. Not because we think we can do everything ourselves forever.
It simply wasn't right for us at that stage.
When we started Jerry Can Spirits, we wanted to build the foundations ourselves. That meant deciding what the brand stood for, what quality meant to us, and what we were and weren't prepared to compromise on.
Bootstrapping sounds romantic until you're the one paying for the stock, packaging, production and everything else while trying to build a business around a full-time job.
But there's value in having to earn every stage of the journey.
