We often get asked, “Does kombucha contain alcohol?”

The short answer is yes, but it’s a tiny amount—less than 0.5%—which classifies it as a non-alcoholic product. To put that into perspective, it’s about the same as you’d find in a ripe banana, so no worries about getting tipsy, no matter how much you drink 🥂

This small amount of alcohol is a natural byproduct of the fermentation process. As the yeasts consume the sugar, they produce alcohol, which is then mostly consumed by the bacteria to create healthy acids. The final result is a delicious drink with a signature tang and no trace of a hangover in sight 👌

We’re diving back into Brockwell Lido for another invigorating morning stretch and (slightly warmer) swim on Friday, July 26th at 8AM 🏊‍♂️

We’ll begin with a wake up stretch session before inviting everyone to take a well-earned splash in the pool. And of course, there’ll be plenty of refreshments on hand, including our new Zerbinati’s Watermelon kombucha made in collaboration with .

Ever ventured into the world of coffee leaf?

We sure hadn’t until Josh Tarlo, the mastermind behind , introduced us to this intriguing ingredient. It all started with their coffee leaf seltzer, sparking our curiosity to experiment with coffee leaf as a base for a new kombucha – and let’s just say, the results were nothing short of extraordinary 🍃✨

But it’s not just about the flavour. Josh and his team go straight to the source, partnering with farms like Carlos Pola’s in El Salvador. Together, they transform these leaves into a unique ‘tea,’ doubling the income from each coffee tree. Not only does this create a delicious new product, but it also minimises waste and empowers farmers by providing them with extra income to support their livelihoods and communities 🤝

🎉 Slightly belated happy new year everyone. After enjoying a much-needed break in Portugal we are now back at the brewery in full swing for 2024.
👀 For our new followers we wanted to introduce ourselves. We are Josh and Lisa, the husband-and-wife team who founded MOMO a little over five years ago after discovering kombucha in New York. We absolutely loved it and couldn’t believe it barely existed in the UK.
From the start our aim has been to produce the UK’s best tasting and highest quality kombucha. To achieve that we brew the old-fashioned way in small glass jars and leave our kombucha completely raw and unfiltered which gives it a fuller depth of flavour 👌
MOMO feels like our third child, nestled between Cece (six years old) and Kaia (four). But it’s grown well beyond us. We are incredibly grateful for our 15 strong team and privileged to be building the business with such a great bunch ♥️.
🤩 Excitement is high for the year ahead. We’ll be growing our team, further expanding our brewery, and brewing up some new flavours. Plus, sustainability remains at our core as we aim to cap off our journey towards carbon neutrality.
Thanks for following us and for being part of our journey - bring on the next 12 months.

🗓️ As we approach the new year, we wanted to look back over the last 12 months and consider some of the things we are grateful for ♥️
This year we brewed close to two tonnes of tea 🌱, dissolved nearly fifteen tonnes of sugar and filled over 31,000 of our small glass jars 🫙. Big shoutout to our brilliant brew team for producing so much great tasting kombucha - we salute you 🫡.
We'd also like to pay tribute to our wonderful ops team (aka the triplets) for making sure over 650,000 bottles of kombucha safely made their way to your fridges all over the UK 🚚.
🥶 We kicked the year off with a cold swim at Brockwell Park Lido. Surprisingly over 80 of you turned up to get chilly with us 🏊.
Put the 26th January in your diaries and come join us again in the new year 🤗.
The biggest news of the year came in March when we unveiled our fresh new brand, along with our long-awaited resealable cap bottles 🤩🥳.
✨The year was ablaze with our Limited Editions. February marked the debut of our Forced Rhubarb Kombucha, our inaugural seasonal creation in collaboration with Natoora. Exploring Robert’s forcing sheds in Yorkshire remains a top highlight since starting the business. Summer brought the unveiling of our Watermelon Kombucha, crafted from Oscar Zerbinati’s famous watermelons 🍉🍉
☕️ At the London Coffee Festival, we united with Caravan Coffee Roasters to introduce the world’s first Gesha Coffee Kombucha. 🍺 And just recently, after a huge amount of incoming demand we decided to brew another run of the hops kombucha with the brilliant brew team at Orbit Beers. Perfect for those about to take on Dry January 🙏

It has also been exciting to see the MOMO team grow again, taking us from 8 to 14. We’re so lucky to work with such a great crew who are so dedicated to what they do and have a lot of fun while doing it 🥰
