St Paddy’s Day ☘️. No chocolate chat today — just my very Irish family

1. Proof you should never take a very wide-angle selfie (esp mid-run), but got the Irish flag in 😂!

2. Cutie patootie Grampy: In our family he was the original entrepreneur—he ran his own roofing company. He was offered a full scholarship to Dartmouth to play ice hockey, but his father died so instead he had to work to support his mother and siblings. I was always told growing up that I took after him the most— I got his hair (inc his cowlick), his colouring, and his sportiness. He was diabetic and I love that he could have eaten our goodies.

3. Grammy: She really was ace ❤️! She loved baking—I have memories of decorating every type of cookie there was on her dining table. She would have been so chuffed to have seen Nibble and would have been the top consumer of our Madagascan Choc Chips 🥹. She used to cook steak for my dog, Archie, when we visited (Archie really loved her too as you can imagine!). She helped me practice every sport I was trying out for (playing catch for softball in the back yard, etc). She was a legend. Someone once pointed out we have the same bone structure and now I can’t unsee it— can you see it? St Paddy’s day was a biggie— she’d dye everything green— beer, ginger ale, mash.

4. My big sister and I with our grandparents 🥹. My sister, Kellie, is genuinely going to kill me for including her perm picture— oops 😂!

5. Larry Bird: Not Irish at all (to my knowledge) but he wore a good shamrock, playing for the Boston Celtics. This quote says it all— love the scrappiness. I once met his brother randomly in a pub in London— really nice guy.
