How does a house and Estate like Melford Hall survive…the answer is very simple, it’s Love. The love of the house, the memories it holds, the love of the people who have worked on it or for us, the love for the village around us. And the love is never stronger than after a disaster. This photo was taken on the rebuilding of the North Wing following the fire of 1942, and just shows the love that ensured that this house was rebuilt to ensure generations could continue to live there and generations more could continue to enjoy it. Photo from Hyde Parker private collection

I think this photo really captures the proudest of people. They did it, they are rebuilding Melford Hall after many thought it couldn’t be done

GREAT BIT OF FARMING HELP FROM THE GOVERNMENT TODAY! I think I spotted 3 maybe 4 things, so sheep can now graze our environmental schemes, I suppose better late than never, 50 million available, not sure that’s actually going to go very far, eased planning regulations, but we need the money to be able to complete these as grants only cover so much! 3rd news bulletin of the day was that there will be a milk shortage! Now watch everyone race to supermarket to buy more milk than actually required. Ps not my cows, but we do love walking the valley path to spot all the animals

FARMER FEELS. Will the sympathy run out? that is by no means meant of the public, more the media . Whilst everyone is being very kind to us. And farmers are on the news across the country, from the south west with blue tongue to the East and low yields, will we still be talked about in 6 months time, will the media have moved on, will the government actually do anything to support us all? It’s across not only the UK but across the world, everyone is struggling in their own way in farmers and public support is amazing but it needs to be backed up by government
