Wakey wakey rise and shine it's 6.00am at brookside farm and our hens are woken when they are lit up for the day, that’s when I appear bright eyed and bushy tailed (most days 😂) to check all is well with my 3,500 flock inside my Hen Shed. Morning time is very busy with all hens inside and safe during the night. The feeding chain is going round for the first of many feeds a day, Its rather noisy with hens coming and going from the nesting boxes laying their fresh eggs and singing out as they lay. A couple of hours into the morning the doors open and they are free to roam with some venturing further than others 😂 Each morning at 7.30am the egg belt is then switch on for the day and we begin to collect all the fresh eggs laid in the nesting boxes, it's then a hop skip and a jump and the fresh eggs are all ready for you to buy in our farm shop. If you don’t see me on the farm you’ll find me very often inside my hen shed checking all is well within my flock. 4 years later from a fear of hens anyone would think I know what I'm doing 😂😂 Happy Saturday looks like a wet one so thought I’d share a little insight while having my morning brew ☕️🍳Anyone for fresh eggs? To my wonderful Brookside farm community, I'd like to share that we have raised an amazing amount of £15,025.00 for Rosemere Cancer Foundation
Thank you so so much to every single person who has supported me & helped me raise this amount, it means so much 🫶
10 years ago I was preparing for my first chemo and today this amount has gone to Rosemere.
Brookfest will always have such a special place in my heart, it was a 'r**t good do'

Just to a little updated with the salmonella outbreak that’s currently in the news. It appears that the outbreak is from imported eggs possibly from countries that don’t always have the strict rules and standards that UK egg farmers have to adhere to.
All the eggs at Brookside Farm are freshly laid daily and we meet all the standards required in the UK egg industry. We have regular tests and checks to ensure our eggs are top quality and our recent salmonella tests all came back fine. Thank you to all our customers for your support, buy fresh and support local whenever you can 🍳

Happy Thursday from Brookside farm the weather maybe wet but there is always a warm welcome here our farm shop is all stocked up for you and the eggs are being laid fresh as I type this. Pop down and say hello it's always nice too see you

Good Morning from Brookside farm our shop is open 9am-1pm but please note we are albeit slightly tired. Brookfest 26 was a blast I hope if you came you had as much fun as me & all while raising money for Rosemere.

Sorry the farm shop is closed tomorrow while we celebrate Brookfest in the field, there was only one man who could sample the large for tomorrow and it was that nice he had 3 good job he brought mum for a lift home 😂😂
