📢 S.T.A.R.T.E.R P.R.O.B.S 📢

Apparently my starter has still got the hump after I didn't take it on holiday. There's life in it, but not enough to gamble on 100'ish loaves so sadly no shop bread tomorrow Entertaining Elephants Myriad Organics and Harvest Wholefoods.

Usually at this stage it would be pushing the lid off. It is at times like this when a 'real job' with holiday pay and someone to cover you when off really sounds appealing.

The race is on to get it ready for market on Thursday. Everything crossed. If anyone in Ludlow area has a very lively starter they're happy to give a spoon or 2 of to help kick-start my old girl, please do shout.

No more biking to boulangeries, running coastal paths, swimming in the sea or burying boys in deep holes in the sand. Assuming the sourdough starter doesn't sulk after being left to fend for itself in the fridge for the best part of 2 weeks, it'll be shop bread on Wednesday and LocaltoLudlow on Thursday.

Look forward to seeing you all after what feels like yonks.

ADVANCED WARNING. We're taking a 2 week break from the 10th August. The way things have worked out, tomorrow will be my last until Aug 27th.

Shop bread will continue up until we down tools, and return again on Aug 26th.

Gotta make the time while they're young. Life flying by and kids growing up super fast. If anyone knows how to slow it down, please do let me know.

Chairman's Challenge training is well underway!

Four of the lads got some valuable miles in at the Ludlow Half on Sunday, with Chairman Mikey Jones, Dickie Griffiths, Pete Clarke and Stu Lewis all completing the course.

The Ludlow Half includes around 300m of elevation... but that's only half the climbing they'll face on 1st August, when the team takes on the Everest Ascent Challenge by running 354 laps around Ludlow Castle to climb the equivalent height of Mount Everest!

All loaded into the ol' double fridge for a cold rest before baking for at first light 🌄. The internal temp has jumped to 16 degrees with all the room temp loaves going in, but you can do it old girl. Hopefully it'll work its way down to single digits soon. Fingers crossed, probs the inevitable jank nights sleep..."but I can't make you love me (or cool down), if you don't/won't" so I should probably try and forget about it.

D.I.C.K.S R.U.N C.L.U.B 🏃‍♂️

OK, so this has been on my mind for a while. There's no membership forms or fees, no physical meet ups (not yet anyway) and it's all for fun. It was also a great excuse to work with the legendary .v again, she's smashed it out the park as always. Standby for exercise vest launch soon 💪 - info and visuals to follow.

All just a bit of nonsense. Life can feel a bit serious, Dick's Run Club is anything but. Anyone can get involved, and feel free to use the club name if you're entering events

I'm hoping the final design for vests will be ready soon. These can be for runners, gym goers, worn as training tops or just for wearing about the place. Available to anyone who wants one, this is a not for profit enterprise. Vests will be pre order only (more info shortly) and I won't be holding stock.

Is today's bake the best I've ever done? Possibly not, but its flippin' solid considering my tin can shipping container bakery was over 30 degrees all day, you could hear the fridge groaning from the end of the drive and my head hurt. Off delivering soon, then back to prep for tomorrow, with all my bits crossed it goes OK again 🤞🤞🤞
