Apples? Yes, please!
appleTeme are happy to accept apples. It doesn’t matter too much what the variety is, but we can only use ripe (come easily from tree when picked, seeds dark brown or black) undamaged eating or cooking apples – c***r apples will taint our juice.
We cannot accept windfalls if livestock graze on the land. All apples need to be unsprayed, in decent condition and not bruised, though cosmetic blemishes, spots, pits and cracks are of no concern. Some folk gift them as they prefer the idea of them going to a good home, but we also offer bottles of our juice in return, and some growers prefer cash.
You can leave apples in bags /boxes (no more than 15kg/30lbs please per bag/box) outside appleTeme in Ludlow whenever you like, just please leave a slip with your name and contact details, and variety name if you know it. We note everything and then let you know at the end of the pressing season what we've recorded.
Our pricing for apples accepted is:
On the tree (we pick – limited capacity) 10p/kg (or 1 bottle of juice for 33kg)
Picked by you (we collect – depends on location) 13-19p/kg (or 1 bottle of juice for 17-25kg)
Picked and delivered by you to appleTeme 25p/kg (or 1 bottle of juice for 13kg)
