🚨 Can a ventless fryer safely contain and extinguish a fire? Watch this test.
Our Service Technical Manager, Lee Hillyard, recently worked with Marlowe Kitchen Fire Suppression to install and test a fire suppression system on the ChefsRange KDWYZ-2 Ventless Fryer.
This ventless fryer features: ▪ Twin 8L tanks
▪ Automatic basket lift
▪ Programmable touchscreen controls
▪ Eight preset cooking programmes
▪ Output of up to 13kg of French fries per hour
To put the system through its paces, a controlled fire test was carried out. Temperatures were carefully monitored as conditions were created to reach auto-ignition.
As the video shows, the flames were contained within the fryer. The first warning alert activated at 50°C, followed by automatic deployment of the wet chemical fire suppression system and power isolation.
✅ Fire extinguished in less than 3 seconds
✅ No re-ignition
✅ Successful containment and suppression
Safety is a critical requirement for today's commercial kitchens, and this test highlights the performance of the ChefsRange KDWYZ-2 Ventless Fryer when it matters most.

What started in 1996 as a vision by founder Tim Charlton—while Melanie Charlton was expecting their son Dominic—has grown from strength to strength into a thriving, independent family business.
Key milestones that shaped our journey include:
🤝 Product lines have evolved to stay ahead of market trends, but our partnership with Giorik SpA remains unbroken since day one!
🚀 Partnering with the Standex Corporation (BKI/Bakers Pride) in 2014 tripled our business overnight, bringing major contracts with industry giants like Morrisons, Wolseley, and Tesco.
🏢 In 2019, we successfully amalgamated the Standex (BKI/Bakers Pride) Reading division into our Midlands HQ, in Daventry creating a centralized hub with a state of the art Culinary Centre.
