A Taste of Crediton Returns
There's never been a better time to visit Crediton as the town prepares to welcome back the ever-popular Crediton Food Festival on Saturday 11th July at Newcombes Meadow Park, a celebration of local flavour, creativity and community that promises a fantastic day out for visitors of all ages.
Running from 11am to 4pm, with free admission, the festival will once again transform the town centre into a bustling marketplace celebrating the very best of Devon's food and drink. Proudly sponsored by Ashgrove Kitchens, this year's event will feature more than 25 of Devon's finest food and drink producers and traders giving visitors the opportunity to discover new flavours, meet local makers and enjoy a welcoming day out in the heart of Crediton.
A highlight of this year's festival will be the demonstration tent, kindly provided by Ashgrove Kitchens, featuring a full programme of live demonstrations throughout the day. Visitors will be able to watch talented chefs and food specialists in action, pick up new recipes and techniques, and celebrate the incredible quality of local ingredients and produce.
The festival has become one of Crediton's flagship annual events, attracting visitors from across Devon while showcasing the town's thriving independent businesses and rich food culture. Whether you're searching for artisan treats to take home, enjoying freshly prepared street food or simply soaking up the atmosphere, there will be something to tempt every taste.
Families will find plenty to enjoy throughout the day, with a programme of creative and interactive activities designed to inspire visitors of all ages. Local artists Jess Carvill and James Hedge will be leading family-friendly make and take sessions, while Jonty Depp of Pocketwatch Theatre and Isabella's Story Bicycle will entertain younger visitors with imaginative storytelling and interactive performances. Adding to the festival atmosphere, the spectacular Higher Beings circus performers will be present and running circus skills workshops.
Music will provide the soundtrack to the day, with live performances taking place throughout the festival. Audiences can enjoy performances, the Crediton Strummers, and Devon folk artists Benjamin Akira Tallamy and Maz McNamara, creating a lively atmosphere from start to finish.
Beyond the festival itself, visitors are encouraged to explore Crediton's independent shops, cafés and historic streets. The Food Festival is a celebration not only of exceptional food and drink, but also of the creativity, heritage and community spirit that make the town such a special place to visit.
Whether you're a passionate foodie, looking for a family day out or simply keen to support local businesses, Crediton Food Festival offers something for everyone. With delicious food, live entertainment, creative activities, cookery demonstrations and plenty to discover throughout the day, it's the perfect way to spend a summer Saturday.
