We sent Toby back down to Bristol this week to brew some magic with Left Handed Giant Brewing Co.!

Left Handed Giant are a firm favourite with us, brewing some of our favourite b**rs to date (looking at you Deeper Water), and we're very excited to be given the chance to collab on something dark to go in cask.

The clocks are changing this weekend, and with dark nights, pair darker b**r...

Our recent SIBA-winning porter, Restless, is as dark as they come. At a pokey 8.4% this b**r requires respect and savouring.

Stuffed full of Vietnamese coffee beans, it’s dark and full-bodied with sweet, nutty chocolate notes, possibly described as a pudding in a glass!

What a night at the Society of Independent Brewers - SIBA North West Independent B**r Awards! 🏆

We came home with five Category Champion titles and two more podium places, and we’re still a bit giddy about it. Here’s the full list:

🥇 Restless Imperial Vietnamese Milk Porter: Category Champion, Keg Speciality & Flavoured B**r
🥇 Guileless Pilsner L***r: Category Champion - Keg Session L***r
🥇 Goldless Helles L***r: Category Champion - Keg Premium L***r
🥇 Breakfast Stout: Category Champion - Cask Speciality Amber to Dark
🥇 Shameless West Coast IPA: Category Champion - Cask IPA
🥈 Less Is More Mosaic Pale Ale: Silver - Keg Non-Alcoholic & Low ABV
🥉 Dreamless NE Hazy Pale: Bronze - Session Pales

The winners include an imperial porter, two la**rs, a stout, an IPA, a session pale, and our 0.5% Mosaic, which says a lot about the range the brew team is turning out right now. Fellow brewers and industry experts judge SIBA awards blind, so these really mean something to us.

A massive thank you to the brew team for their hard work, to SIBA for organising, and to all of you who keep drinking our b**r. Come and raise a glass with us at the bar in Macclesfield or Buxton, or stock up via the webshop!

Beyond Shameless is out! 🍻

We’ve joined forces with NORTHERN MONK on this one, a 6.2% West Coast IPA that’s now pouring on cask and keg, with cans landing in the webshop today.

Chewy, resinous and unapologetically bitter, this b**r harks back to those classic West Coast IPAs that we fell in love with all those years ago.

Keep an eye out for the pump clip on a bar near you, or get some cans in via the webshop!

The sequel is always better… fact! 🍺

The OGs are great and all, but we all know the really good stuff comes the second time around. Next week, we’ve got just that.

Nonetheless First Gold, the second in our series of pub-centric pale ales, lands in the cold room next week, ready to head out to pubs and bars near you.

A crisp, easy-drinking pale with a biscuity, lightly nutty Maris Otter malt character. First Gold hops bring gentle citrus, orange marmalade and subtle herbal notes, balanced by a clean, refreshing bitterness.

Light-bodied, sessionable and pleasantly dry on the finish. At 3.8%, it’s built for a few pints with your mates.

Pub?
Landlords and bar managers: a word of warning. The first one sold out quicker than Glastonbury tickets, so if you want it on your bar, don’t dilly-dally. Get your orders in now via [email protected].
Drinkers: keep an eye on your local’s handpulls, or nudge your landlord to get some in!

We’re properly chuffed about this one. Eight of our core b**rs are Great Taste Award winners, and the cans are now wearing their badges with pride. 🏆

Great Taste is judged blind by food and drink experts, so there’s no name or reputation to lean on. The b**r in the glass has to do all the talking, which makes these feel especially good.

Seven of the eight are available right now:
🍺 Perceptionless, New England IPA, 6.6%
🍺 Wreckless, American Pale Ale, 4.8%
🍺 Weightless, Session IPA, 4.2%
🍺 Contactless, Hazy Pale, 5.2%
🍺 Divisionless, Gluten Free L***r, 4.0%
🍺 Breakfast Stout, made with Vietnamese coffee, 5.6%
🍺 Less Is More Mosaic, Low Alcohol Pale, 0.5%

It's dry October, and here's the good news: you don't have to give up b**r to do it.

Our Less is More range is brewed with exactly the same care and standards as everything else that leaves Macclesfield. Full of flavour, full of character, and ready whenever you are.

There's our Helles, crisp, clean and the sort of thing you'd happily sip on a sunny terrace in Munich. And there's our Mosaic AF Pale, bursting with juicy tropical hops and the proud owner of a Great Taste Award.

Not doing October dry?

Less is More is for everyone. It's a cracking choice for a midweek pint, an early start the next day, or the drive home after a day out.

Gone a bit arty this week. 📸

Turns out the brewery scrubs up quite well in black and white. Pipes, valves, gauges and sight glasses don't usually get their moment, but they do a lot of the heavy lifting around here, so we thought they deserved a portrait session.

Next time you're in the bar, give the brewery equipment a nod. It's earned it.
