Our livestock are respected and treated kindly and we are committed to traditional methods of rearing, this provides produce not available from the supermarket. Come and see for yourself and ask about out farming methods, have a breath of fresh air while your at it. We specialise in home reared and local lamb and beef, mainly grass fed and we also have our own rare breed pigs from which we make dr

y cure bacon and gammon and sausages in a variety of flavours. We source free range eggs locally and also supply free range chicken.

Made with slow-cooked braising steak rather than mince, it’s rich, comforting, full of hidden veg and best served with a chunky pasta shape that gives all those tender shreds of beef something to cling to. Forkfuls don’t get much better than this.

Now that’s what we call a fully stocked meat counter! 🥩

If you want good, honest food that’s been produced properly, buying directly from the producer is a pretty good place to start. Fewer middlemen, no clever tricks to make the meat look bigger and a much clearer idea of where your food has come from and how the animals were cared for.

You also get to choose your meat from an actual counter and ask an actual butcher all the important questions: Which cut is best? How should I cook it? What goes with it? And have I bought enough for seconds?

The advice is free, by the way. 😉

This Friday is ! 🍺

It all started back in 2007, when Jesse Avshalomov and a few beer-loving friends decided the world needed a day dedicated to good beer, good company and the people who brew and serve it.

So, why not invite a few friends round, crack open a beer or two and serve up something delicious alongside it?

Take a look at our recipe page for plenty of dishes that go rather nicely with a pint, or pop into the shop and ask our butchers for their recommendations. They know their meat – and they’re not entirely unfamiliar with beer either. 😆
