A late night shift for the Fulogs Honey Team 🐝🌙

Tonight we were out moving bees to their new location — and this is one job that’s always best done after dark.

Once the sun goes down, all the forager bees have returned to the hive, meaning the full colony is home and can be moved safely together. The bees are also much calmer at night, reducing stress on the colony and making the whole process safer for both the bees and us.

Moving them during the day would mean losing a large portion of the workforce out foraging — and a much more aggressive hive to handle. Night work might not be glamorous, but it’s the right way to look after the bees and keep colonies strong going into the season ahead.

Another step forward as we continue expanding our apiaries and producing quality local honey 🍯

Out in the apiary today making the most of the good weather ☀️🐝

We’ve been carrying out full colony health checks across our hives—making sure queens are laying strong, brood patterns are healthy, and stores are building nicely after winter. Everything is shaping up well 💪

With the warmer temperatures and nectar starting to come in, today was also about adding supers to give the bees plenty of space to work. This is a key step to support strong colonies and maximise honey production over the coming weeks 🍯

It’s a busy time of year, but this is where the foundations are set for a great season ahead.

🌿🐝 Big things happening at Fulogs this week… 🐝🌿

We’ve been out in the countryside setting up a brand new apiary ahead of the upcoming season — and it’s shaping up to be a good one.

This will be a key spot for us going forward, where we’ll be bringing our split hives and giving new colonies the space they need to grow and thrive on their own out here in Annaghavogie Moss.

New hives in place, fresh ground chosen, and everything geared towards giving our bees the best possible start. This is where it all begins… long days, hard work, and a real passion for what we do.

Every jar of Fulogs honey starts right here 🍯

Here’s to a strong season ahead 💪🐝

The beekeeping season has officially begun 🐝🌼

Out here in the heart of the Irish countryside, there’s no better feeling than getting back into the hives, hearing that steady hum, and seeing the bees building strong again after winter. This is where it all starts — careful inspections, healthy colonies, and laying the groundwork for what we hope will be a brilliant season ahead.

There’s a lot of hard work to come, but days like this remind us why we do it. Fresh air, open fields, and the bees doing what they do best.

Here’s to a productive season ahead 🍯

🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day from Fulogs Honey Company 🍀

Today we celebrate a day full of Irish pride, tradition, and a bit of luck 🍯🇮🇪

While the pints are flowing and the craic is mighty, our bees are never too far away from the action – working hard behind the scenes to bring you the finest local honey.

There’s nothing more Irish than supporting local, and we’re proud to play our part in bringing natural, pure honey straight from hive to home.

So whether you’re enjoying a quiet day or out celebrating, don’t forget to add a touch of sweetness to it 🍯

Wishing you all a lucky and joyful St. Patrick’s Day!

A beautiful day to stand beside the bees. ☀️🐝

The girls were out in force today, taking full advantage of the sunshine and bringing in plenty of fresh pollen. At this time of year they’ll be working on early spring sources like willow, hazel and gorse, building the colony up for the busy season ahead.

It’s great to see strong activity at the hive entrances – a sure sign the colonies are healthy and getting ready for the months ahead.

Spring is well and truly on the way. 🌼

Learning never stops 📚🐝
Yesterday we had the privilege of attending the UBKA Conference at Greenmount, Antrim — a great day focused on the future of sustainable, chemical-free beekeeping and working with the bees, not against them.

Every talk, every insight, and every conversation helps us grow stronger, smarter, and better for the seasons ahead. 🌼🍯

A busy morning at the hives 🌼🐝
The bees were out early today making the most of any break in the weather, collecting fresh pollen wherever they can find it. At this time of year around the Draperstown area, they’ll be working sources like hazel catkins, willow, alder, gorse, and early spring flowers such as snowdrops and crocus.

The bees never waste an opportunity — if there’s a chance to harvest, they’ll take it. These early pollen runs are vital for building strong, healthy colonies as we head further into spring.

🌸🐝 Hello Spring! 🐝🌸

Today is the 1st of February, and traditionally it marks the beginning of spring here in Ireland — a fresh new season for nature and for our bees.

The longer days are returning, the first signs of bloom are appearing, and our colonies are starting to stir with new energy after the winter months.

There’s something special about this time of year — fresh growth, fresh hope, and the start of another exciting journey in the apiary.

Here’s to a season full of blossoms, colour, and busy bees ahead! 🌼🍯

How FULOGS Started & The Story Behind the Name 🐝🍯

FULOGS started with a simple idea — to build something real, rooted in the land, and done the right way.

What began as a small beekeeping project quickly became a passion. Learning from the ground up, understanding the bees, the seasons, and the work that goes into producing honest honey. There were early mornings, long days, mistakes, and lessons learned — but that’s how FULOGS was built.

The name FULOGS holds deep personal meaning. It comes from my grandmother’s family nickname. The idea for the business came to me while I was in the place where her family are from, which made naming it after them feel only right — a way of carrying family history forward into something new.

The original spelling is Philogs, but we chose FULOGS as it’s easier to pronounce and remember, while still staying true to the name and its roots.

FULOGS represents family, hard work, and pride in where we come from. Everything we do is about quality, honesty, and respect for the bees and the environment they thrive in.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us so far — this is only the beginning 🐝
