A late night shift for the Fulogs Honey Team 🐝🌙
Tonight we were out moving bees to their new location — and this is one job that’s always best done after dark.
Once the sun goes down, all the forager bees have returned to the hive, meaning the full colony is home and can be moved safely together. The bees are also much calmer at night, reducing stress on the colony and making the whole process safer for both the bees and us.
Moving them during the day would mean losing a large portion of the workforce out foraging — and a much more aggressive hive to handle. Night work might not be glamorous, but it’s the right way to look after the bees and keep colonies strong going into the season ahead.
Another step forward as we continue expanding our apiaries and producing quality local honey 🍯
