I wanted to share a personal experience I had yesterday that gave me a few hard truths. I came for the health benefits but left with even more.

Sometimes we all just need a simple reminder from another human. 🩵

Detox isn’t a juice cleanse. It’s a three-phase biological process and if even one phase is sluggish, your liver can’t do its job.

Your liver detoxes in 3 steps:

Phase 1: Activation
Phase 2: Conversion/Neutralisation
Phase 3: Elimination

But this is sooo important:
You can upregulate Phase 1, which can be amazing (like taking supplements or herbs)…
But if Phases 2 and 3 aren’t supported with minerals, fibre, hydration, and bowel flow those toxins can get stuck mid-process.
And that can actually make you feel worse!!

In this final video of the series, I’m showing you how to support all 3 phases properly( backed by science, and explained simply, I hope!)

Let’s support it the way it actually works. 🩵

Your liver is one of the most hormone-active organs in your body. Did you know that?

On top of everything else, here’s some functions your liver completes:

It clears out used hormones like estrogen
Converts thyroid hormone so you have energy
Helps stabilise blood sugar to keep hormones in check
Works with your gut to prevent inflammation and imbalance

When it’s sluggish or overloaded you’re gonna experience:
Hormones recirculating
Estrogen builds up
Thyroid slows down
Everything feeling a wee bit off, even if your blood tests look ā€œnormalā€

Ps. sorry there were some sound issues on this video 😬

The final, and perhaps most important video of this series is dropping tomorrow šŸ™

If your digestion’s off, if toxins are leaking into your bloodstream, if your bowels are sluggish then it’s your liver that’s left to clean up the mess. And over time it’s going to get overwhelmed.

In this video, I’m breaking down:
How leaky gut and dysbiosis put pressure on your liver
Why sluggish bowels = sluggish detox
The vicious cycle between poor digestion and poor detox
Simple ways to support both systems together

You can’t detox if you’re not going to the toilet daily. šŸ’©
You can’t fix hormones or skin until your gut-liver axis is working.

Watch this one, then watch it again and take notes šŸ˜…

Our liver is like the CEO of the body, you need to support it! There is no point in quick fixes here, we need to look at the entire picture and make changes at all levels. We are so blessed with how our bodies can heal, given the right support. The liver in particular has a wonderful ability to regenerate.

Also you may think your liver is functioning well if you don’t drink alcohol, that can be very far from the truth. If you have gut issues, skin issues or hormone issues, you NEED to consider the liver.

Any questions??

We overcomplicate hormone health!

A randomised study found that walking for just 10 minutes after each main meal reduced post-meal blood sugar by an average of 12% compared with one 30-minute walk at any other time of day. After the evening meal, it was 22% lower.

Insulin is a hormone. Finish your meal, get up and walk for 10 minutes. You’ll reap the benefits in more ways that one šŸ‘

From my first liver post a few days back, there have been countless messages about WHAT could be negatively impacting your liver.

Your liver works 24/7 to filter hormones, toxins, processed food, medication, and so much more.
But even if you never touch a drink… it could still be under biggg pressure:

Ultra-processed foods + liquid sugars
Hidden plastics + toxins in makeup, cleaning, and packaging
Chronic stress and poor sleep
Overuse of medication
Sedentary lifestyle
Gut issues + constipation (your liver has to pick up the slack)

The result is bloating, PMS symptoms from failed hormone clearance, brain fog, fatigue, Sugar cravings, Inflammation… etc.
And the thing is that many of us have no idea the liver is involved.

But the good news is your liver is one of the only organs that can regenerate. Because it’s bloody amazing!!!
In the next video, I’ll show you how to heal it naturally (backed by science).

The sooner we realise how LINKED our bodies are instead of chasing symptoms, the easier it will be to support and heal. Lecture over and out 🤣

So if this hit home, follow along!

Most of us only think about their liver when they hear the word ā€œalcoholā€ but your liver filters everything:
Hormones, Toxins, Blood sugar, Fat, Nutrients, Medications, Skincare chemicals & Even emotional stress

When it’s overloaded you can expect symptoms like:
Constant fatigue or brain fog
Bloating, PMS, or acne
Waking up nauseous or between 1–3am
Strong sugar cravings
Skin flare-ups or stubborn weight

Our wee bodies are so amazing, but it can only compensate for so long!

In this series, I’m breaking it all down piece by piece, so by the end, you’ll know everything you should’ve been taught about your liver.

Next up: What’s really overloading your liver (and how to stop it).

In this first part of my deep-dive liver series, I’m breaking down exactly what the liver does, why it’s so misunderstood, and the silent signs that it’s not coping

Honestly guys, you don’t even have to drink alcohol or have alarms on the blood tests to show your liver is crying out for a bit of support.

Let me know if you relate to this or find this interesting!

And follow along, Part 2 is coming tomorrow

You can’t absorb what you can’t digest… say it louder for the people in the back šŸ‘

Top tips:

✨Chew each mouthful properly, digestion starts in the mouth.
✨Avoid drinking large amounts with meals
✨Stay upright after eating and get in a 10–15 minute walk. Studies show movement after meals can support gastric emptying, reduce blood sugar significantly and reduce bloating for some people.
✨Feed your gut bacteria with prebiotic foods (sea moss) and pair with fermented foods.
✨Eat in a relaxed state. Stress can reduce digestive function and contribute to bloating, indigestion and changes in bowel habits.

Remember guys, your wee gut isn’t just responsible for digestion. It plays an important role in immunity, nutrient absorption and even communication with the brain.
These are super basic, but super effective!

Do you follow these steps or do you plan to? Let me know šŸ‘
