We were delighted to receive the trophy from Alan Titchmarsh after being awarded First Prize in the Master Gardener Competition at the 119th Royal Windsor Flower Show.

The garden challenged some conventional ideas about what a garden should be. Rather than focusing on control and perfection, Rooted in Nature explored a different question:

Are we simply observing nature, or are we participants within it?

The garden drew on biodynamic and naturalistic principles, weaving together planting, movement and light to reflect the interplay of thinking, feeling and willing. Copper elements traced connections between soil and cosmos, while cultivated plants grew alongside wild and self-seeded species, celebrating relationship, diversity and the living processes that shape a garden.

Huge thanks to everyone who helped bring the vision to life and to all those who stopped to visit, ask questions and share conversations throughout the show.

We are delighted to share that Waltham Place will be featured on tonight’s episode of Gardeners’ World, in conversation with Frances Tophill, exploring biodynamic gardening and the principles that guide our work here.

It was a pleasure to talk about the ideas behind our approach and to share how we care for the garden as a living organism.

A lovely opportunity to offer a glimpse into the care and thought behind the gardens and a moment to celebrate the team whose dedication makes it all possible.

We hope you enjoy watching.

BBC Two, tonight at 20:00.

Many thanks to for the opportunity to share a little about biodynamics, and naturalistic gardening at Windsor Great Park last night.

It was such a positive and inspiring evening, and truly encouraging to see so many people sharing a common interest in ecology, resilience, and the potential of gardens to work more closely with nature.

The conversations, questions, and enthusiasm for climate-adaptive planting and the beauty of often overlooked plants made the evening especially memorable.

We’re very much looking forward to seeing many of you again at the Flower Show!
