Here comes Spring at Flowerfields! The farm is bursting into life, with narcissi, hyacinths and hellebores blooming and the blossom on the trees looking wonderful. Our first crops of the season are coming along well, the ranunculus in the greenhouse are looking good, as are the tulip beds. I’ve been planting out the autumn sown sweet peas and sowing lots more seeds for the season ahead.

We’re busy planning for the opening of .cookham – for our florist customers, Flowerfields flowers and foliage will be available on the hub each week, alongside wonderful blooms from talented flower farmers across Berks, Bucks and Oxon. Take a look at www.flower-hub.co.uk to register.

Our DIY buckets of seasonal cut flowers will be available from late April too – perfect for those looking to arrange their own flowers for a wedding or event, or simply to enjoy at home.

Now we just need some more of that lovely Spring sunshine for Mabel to bathe in!

Still just about in time for a January reintroduction! I’m Fenella and I run .cookham, a flower and foliage farm based just outside Maidenhead, Berkshire. We grow seasonal flowers and foliage which we largely supply to local florists.

This year we’re expanding the range and volume of English flowers available by launching Flowerhub Cookham - a weekly ‘one stop shop’ for florists, offering flowers and foliage from flower farms across Berks, Bucks and Oxon. Do give us a follow .cookham or see link in bio for more info.

From May to September we also offer DIY flower buckets, perfect for flower enthusiasts to arrange their own flowers for an upcoming event or just enjoy at home. Opening Flowerhub Cookham will mean our buckets will now include an even greater range of beautiful English flowers.

We host a variety of workshops here at the farm, often in partnership with other local businesses. We’re going to pause our workshops while we get our Flowerhub up and running, but we’ll be revisiting later in the year – continuing our food and wellness collaborations following the success our 2025 events.

When I’m not busy with the flowers, I work with my family, have three wonderful boys who keep me busy, and a lovely and super helpful husband who I couldn’t run the farm (or my new hub venture) without!

Oh.. and mustn’t forget and our gorgeous dog Mabel, who’s generally snoozing in sunshine somewhere on the farm, waiting to see what treats our next florist customer will bring her!

As flowery season draws towards a close, it’s a nice moment to share some late summer / early autumn highlights from the farm.

The dahlias, cosmos and zinnias have been wonderful and filled our recent florist orders – thank you to all our lovely customers.

We hosted our Autumn workshop in September with – a wonderful day celebrating the best of autumn food and flowers (although it was 26 degrees and felt more like July!!!) Thank you to everyone who came along and to for sharing some of these lovely images of the day.

We are currently planning our Christmas workshops for 5th and 6th Dec – we’ll share details very soon.

We’re busy harvesting seeds for next year’s crops and planning and prepping for 2026. Soon we’ll start to put the farm to bed for another year – time flies!

In the background, we’ve also been working away on plans for Flowerhub Cookham, ready for launch in Spring 2026 - we’ll keep you posted!

As its British Flowers Week .flowers.week it feels like the ideal time to let you know about an exciting project I’ve been working on.

Later this summer I’ll be launching a Flowerhub!

Flowerhub Cookham will offer seasonal flowers and foliage from independent growers in Berks, Bucks and Oxon. By providing a single weekly collection point from our farm just outside Maidenhead, the hub will increase the volume and range of top quality British flowers and foliage available to florists, so providing a viable and sustainable alternative to imported wholesale flowers.

Flowerhub Cookham is a collaboration with the brilliant which launched its Gloucestershire-based hub in 2024.
