RE-OPENING OF THE FISHING LAKES WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.

We are very pleased to be able to announce that the Fishing Lakes at the Farm are now open again, as of noon today, Saturday the 22nd November.
(We have had a test angler fishing the lakes this morning & he landed 3 healthy trout & reported the rest were acting normally again & were interested in everything.)
We are happy that the cold weather this week has brought the change of healthier conditions to the lakes, after unseasonably warm conditions caused a short term biological oxygen demand over the past 2 weeks.

We look forward to welcoming all our anglers back to the farm again very soon!

ATTENTION ALL ANGLERS: THE FISHERY IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED.
Sadly, we have had to take the decision to CLOSE the Fishery this week, due to the natural conditions present at the moment.

(We suspect a biological oxygen demand is happening in the lakes at the moment, caused by very low water flow, combined with higher than normal temperatures for this time of year. In addition, large amounts of summer w**d is now dying off & we believe this is creating a lack of oxygen for the fish at this present time.)
This has never happened before, in 50 years, we have nature’s “perfect storm” of conditions.

We will be monitoring the lakes closely & will re-open again as soon as we possibly can. Apologies to all our anglers, we realise how disappointing this will be for you all.

Today is a very sad day at the farm. The storms this week proved just too much for our lovely old ash tree by the lake. Sadly, it all has to be taken down today and we will lose the two swings that have given so many children such enjoyment over the years. It will look very different by the end of the day.
