Oh well, if you insist that I look after some pear silverware, I guess I can do that for you.......😜!

It was the today! We entered 3 pear classes and came away with 2 1sts and a 3rd (only 0.75 points off the winner!). 2 trophies and some happy Pipers!

We're very small fish in a very large pond so it's always nice to remember that we're good growers (who love a competition! 😜😂) and that we're doing a good job.....even if Dad already thinks we can do it better next year!😂 Who says that we're competitive?!! 😜

After our Champion Basket win last week at the National Cherry and Soft Fruit Show, we are privileged to have been able to send these outstanding cherries to His Majesty the King today!

Picked by the experts; my Mum, Carolyn, and her two sisters, Anita and Diana who picked the winning entry last week!

This Kir L'Amour is available on the stall today...... we're open until 5pm so this is your chance to have the same cherries as the King!

2 days left! Open 10am-5pm, closing for the 2025 season at 5pm this Friday!

I know, I know......... the season is too short, I hear you say!

But it's that time of year already! We are coming to the end of our cherry season and I have to share the sad news!

We'll be closing the stall this Friday (25th July). We'll be open 10am-5pm all this week so there's still time to get your last few cherries (and if you're early, the last few strawberries! ) of the 2025 season! Strawberries are very limited now so we have them every morning but once they're gone, they're gone! For cherries, love will be in the air, with Kir L'Amour and Sweetheart featuring on the stall this week (as well as Regina! But I couldn't link that with love! 😜).

Hope to see you this week! 🍒🍓

Thanks for all of your good wishes today!

Entrant number 13..... unlucky for some......but not unlucky for us today!!!!

We placed in every class. We got 15 1sts.

We won the Tastiest cherry class.... first and second place! Stardust came first.......a white cherry to look out for next year! And our Tamara came second!

And, the piece de resistance, we won the cherry champion basket! The prize has been elusive to us for the last few years so we're all exceptionally pleased (and proud! ) to have achieved it this year!

Not to mention 2 1st prizes in the 2 strawberry classes we entered with Malling Centenary.... and 3rd place in the tastiest strawberry class! 🙌

Yesterday, I was run ragged. Questioning why we put ourselves through this for the show! 😂 Today, I know why. It's hard work and it's a labour of love....... but the reality is...... that we all absolutely love our cherries! The care, attention, blood, sweat, tears and blooming hours and hours of toil that go into these cherries (and strawberries! ) is all to work towards things like this! And competition was fierce!

So we're happy bunnies today! Thanks for your support, your business and your dedication! We hope that you love our Fruit as much as we do! 🥰🥰🥰

Happy National Cherry Day! We have 35 varieties on the Piper Cherry farm....... quite enough to be grown commercially!!! They all have their quirks and we like to think that we can bring out each of their strengths, maybe through pruning them differently or picking them at the exact right moment! Just the right amount of TLC!👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
