🏆 A Maidstone takeaway has scooped a major regional award.

🍛 Jhal Chilli, in Union Street, was named Regional Takeaway of the Year for Kent at the Asian Restaurant & Takeaway Awards 2026, held at the London Hilton in Park Lane.

🎉 It adds to wins at the Kent & Medway Food & Drink Awards and the MaidFest Favourite Business Awards this year, as well as Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice awards in 2025 and 2026.

🌶️ The independent business serves classic curries, biryanis and tandoori favourites, alongside more unusual dishes featuring duck and ostrich. Its menu also includes Kua Kata Murgh Masala, inspired by a coastal destination in Bangladesh.

👏 Co-owner Ruhul Tarafder said the award was a proud moment for the whole team, thanking its chefs, staff, delivery drivers and loyal customers for helping make it an unforgettable year.
