Maldon friends, who is interested?

Ready meals on wheels. Homemade. Lunch or dinner.

Full of a diverse range of plants. I want to feed people quality food with local ingredients. Whether you live on your own and struggle to find inspiration, a very busy family that doesn’t have time or maybe you just suck at cooking - and hey, we can’t be good at everything 😂.

I would love to hear some feedback and any questions you have.

Finally, if you want to be kept in the loop for when meals are available, website is live etc - please message me your email address and I will add you to the mailing list

Thanks all

Are you eating enough plants?

Are you skipping proper meals?

Don’t have the time? Or motivation?
Or do you know someone that’s doing this?
“It’s hard to cook for one” - I hear so often. I’ve said it myself.

Are you getting enough diversity in your meals? Eating too much sugar?

New studies suggest eating 30 different plants each week has significant improvement on our gut health. The gut is where our immune system is, and the stronger our gut health the better our bodies are at fighting diseases and cancer. So we need to build up the microbes in our gut.

(fruit, veg, nuts, herbs, spices are all plants)

Labelling in supermarkets makes everything appear healthy when really the plants are stripped of their nutrients and meals are full of cheap alternative/preservatives/flavourings that are all damaging to our gut.

7 “HUNDRED” VEG & HALLOUMI

***

The original Fat Man of Maldon is famous for 7 hundred* men fitting inside his coat one night at a bar. The hundred standing for the local Dengie Hundred where the men lived. Impressively therefore it was told, 7 “Hundred” men squeezed inside his waistcoat to settle a bet.

***

This meal celebrates this story by squeezing at least 7 different varieties of plant into the meal, all from the local Dengie Hundred. Diversity of plants in your diet is important for a healthy gut. It is suggested to try and get 30different plants into your diet each week. At least 7 is just this one meal is a great start.

The meal is topped with pan fried Halloumi croutons and a side of couscous
