My first bakes in what feels like an age! I made these shortbread biscuits for some F1 fans ready to watch the British Grand Prix. Yum!

And would you look at these little cuties 😍 These viral dot cakes were a dream to make. One set is a summery lemon sponge and lemon buttercream and another set of vanilla cake and buttercream. Perfect for sunny days! 🌞

Of course I had to have a little experiment, so I grated some Cadbury's Dairy Milk and topped a few of team vanilla. I absolutely love the velvet-like texture to them.

Hello friends! 👋👋

As some will know, I've had to have some down time due to my latest finger surgery. After a couple of complications I'm now back! Whoop, whoop - did you miss me?! 🎉🤣

Well, not being in the kitchen was very frustrating and I wanted treats badly, so I contacted another local baker and she really delivered the goods!

Check out Oi Cakes, this lady is insanely talented and focuses on dark treats - just brilliant!

This was her monthly casket treat box and is delicious.

Making a decorating cakes is a funny old business, sometimes the cake doesn't want to bake properly and I end up re-baking, sometimes it won't stake straight or buttercream properly and it gets stripped back time and again.

Sometimes things go just perfectly and I start to think that I've cracked this cake making thing 👌 🫶💪

And then, just when I think I've got this in the bag - the fondant decides it doesn't want to play and I spend nearly 4 hours kneeding, re-rolling and trying, repeatedly to cover a cake.

Oh yes, I'm sure cakes have a mind of their own and decide exactly what's happening and who's in control! 😂

However, I do love the finished result and forgive it for playing games with me. ###

This was an absolute joy to make. My first cake with corners!

A vanilla sponge with vanilla buttercream and strawberry jam, and lots of love added. 🥰🥰🥰

I spent a couple of very relaxing afternoons with podcasts, making the roses and white flowers, but we had a severe spoon shortage the next day!

I'm glad to say the customers were happy.

And so now back to making treats for Valentines Day, I've got a few treats ready to be made, so if anyone fancies a box of something yummy, let me know. ###
