Our friends at Rooted Chippenham came to see us in Malmesbury for advice on setting up a community fridge and now they are about to open their own!

We've got a bonus donation today, loads of 2litre milk, courtesy of Morrisons in Chippenham. Many thanks to them for passing this on rather than it going to waste. COME AND HELP YOURSELF.

A special day for the community fridge team!

Three years ago on this day, we opened the HEALS Malmesbury Community Fridge in Malmesbury Town Hall.

Since then more than 30 tonnes of food, that would otherwise have gone to landfill, has been redistributed from the fridge.

A huge thank you to our amazing 25 strong team of volunteers who make this happen day in, day out and to the Co-op and Waitrose & Partners who work with us and to Malmesbury Town Council for hosting us.

Thanks to our Mayor Steve James for joining us this evening and a special mention to his late wife Lou James who was the inspiration behind the fridge project and to whom we owe a huge debt of gratitude 🙏

Come and see us tomorrow in The Old School Room in Malmesbury Town Hall!

We're teaming up with our friends from the Co-op who have a wonderful Fair Trade prize hamper and can talk about the benefits of being a member; they will also have some giveaway goodies.

And we have a prize competition for guessing how much food we have distributed and how many carbon dioxide miles equivalent we have saved since we opened the community fridge nearly three years ago.

🍅🌽🍊🍆 While stocks last! Lots of fresh fruit and veg this morning but be quick as it always goes quickly!
