Every great journey starts somewhere 🌱🎓

Our apprentice brewer Sam, begins his with Hoppy Scholar. Brewed as part of his course, it's bright and floral, bursting with tropical pineapple and passionfruit. Light on your tongue, but big on flavour, the kind you'll want a second pint of before you've finished the first.

Sam is now through to the final of the Brewer Apprentice of the year and this is the b**r that got him there. Not a training exercise. Not a b**r that's "good for a first go." A proper, confident, brilliant pint that's earned its place on the bar.

At 4.5% ABV and available on cask only, it's one worth getting to before the barrel runs dry. Pull up a stool, raise a glass to someone who's clearly got the talent.

The fifth and final cycle of our 2026 Boilerhouse b**rs are here to see you through the Autumn months. 🍂🪾

🖤There are three new b**rs to help you through the Autumn slump, Black Thorn, a fruity sloe berry and stone fruit ale, with fresh hop aromas of grapefruit and orange zest. Light and easy-drinking, with just enough sharpness.

🎓Hoppy Scholar, our apprentice brewer begins his brewing journey with hoppy scholar. Brewed as part of his course, it’s bright and floral with notes of tropical pineapple and passionfruit. Light, refreshing and sessionable enough to have a couple.

🤑Filthy Rich, A salted caramel porter, Caramel, toffee and butterscotch with a lightly roasted malt. tastes like millionaire's shortbread in your glass.

Oldham's finest physicist is back in town 🔭

Back in 2018, Professor Brian Cox came home to brew Cosmic Brew with us. A sessionable 3.9% amber ale with Admiral, Jester and Cascade hops. And he designed the label too. The stars on it show the night sky looking north over our brewery on the day he was born ✨🚀

The North of the 1950s wasn’t the vibrant cosmopolitan place we know today. It was against a backdrop of brown b**r that we had a bright idea. We launched our original l***r. 🍻
