There's a nut that refuses to be farmed.

Brazil nut trees only grow wild in living rainforest, and every attempt to cultivate them commercially has failed, so the wild forest is the only place this nut has ever come from.

Each one begins life inside a pod about the size of a coconut, growing high in the Amazon canopy until the forest decides it's ready and lets it fall, carrying up to twenty-five nuts inside.

Nobody climbs up to pick them, and nobody speeds up the wait, which means the forest has to stay standing for the nuts to keep coming at all.
