Life at sea was governed by rules.

King’s Regulations and Admiralty Instructions defined order, responsibility, and routine aboard ship.

Nothing was left to chance, including what was carried, issued, and accounted for.

“Carried at sea” is a description, not a slogan.

It speaks to responsibility.
To what sailors were trusted with aboard ship.

Some things travelled with purpose.

Naval history is often told through documents.

It’s also carried in materials, rope worn smooth, brass dulled by salt, paper marked by time.

These details matter.

Sailors carried their stories in ink.

Tattoos marked service, journeys, loss, and time spent at sea.

Anchors, stars, waves, women, a visual language passed from port to port.

This artwork draws from that tradition, not as decoration, but as record.

RUM F***Y

A rum f***y was a container used aboard naval ships to carry and issue rum.

It wasn’t branding.
It wasn’t indulgence.

It was part of working naval life, guarded, rationed, and respected.

This project takes its name from that object and its identity from the visual language sailors left behind: ink, symbols, tools, and tradition.

Rum F***y is built around heritage before product.
Story before liquid.
Meaning before marketing.

Not a pirate story.

A naval one.

Rum has been wrapped in myth for a long time.
This looks past the fantasy and back to service, structure, and tradition.

Rum F***y is shaped by ink as much as it is by history.

The symbols come from traditional naval tattooing, anchors, stars, waves, women, marks sailors carried as records of service, loss, loyalty, and home.

The artwork is created by F***y Gogh, an artist whose grandfather served in the British Navy.

This is not borrowed imagery.
It’s inherited language.

Rum F***y exists to respect that tradition, not to modernise it, soften it, or turn it into fantasy.

What came from the sea should still feel like it did.
