We’re kicking off an exciting summer of food, flavours and special evenings at The Bistro at Shiels with our Italian Evening on Friday 19th June at Shiels Sandwich Bar

Join us for a delicious four-course Italian-inspired feast, featuring everything from homemade focaccia and wild mushroom arancini to rich ragùs, porchetta, fresh hake and indulgent Italian desserts. With two sittings available at 5:30pm and 8:30pm, it’s the perfect way to enjoy an evening of authentic Italian-inspired dining right here at The Bistro.

We’re thrilled to be launching our Summer Events Series, with the full line-up for the rest of June and July being revealed by the end of this week. Expect themed dining experiences, seasonal menus and plenty more reasons to gather with friends and family throughout the summer.

🍽️ Exciting Changes Are Coming to The Bistro at Shiels 🍽️

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who has supported us since we opened. Whether you’ve joined us for a meal, stopped by for a drink, or simply spread the word, your support means everything to us.

After careful consideration, we’ve decided to take The Bistro in an exciting new direction.

When we reopen on Friday 19th June, we’ll be launching a series of exclusive Friday night events throughout the summer. Expect everything from burger nights and steak nights to Italian evenings, supper clubs, wine tastings, guest chef experiences and much more.

Our goal is to create unique, memorable dining experiences for our local community while continuing to deliver the quality, creativity and attention to detail that we’re known for.

We’ll be releasing our full summer schedule soon, with all events available to pre-book in advance. We’re also working behind the scenes on a refreshed website to make booking easier than ever.

The first events will be revealed over the coming days, so keep an eye on our social channels for all the details.

We’re incredibly excited for what’s ahead and can’t wait to welcome you back from Friday 19th June.

IMPORTANT UPDATE FOR THE BISTRO AT SHIELS ❤️

Exciting times ahead for The Bistro at Shiels! ✨

Over the last few weeks we’ve learned a huge amount, and after taking everything on board, we’ve decided to close the bistro for this weekend and next while we make some exciting changes behind the scenes.

Since opening, we’ve been overwhelmed by the support, encouragement and fantastic reviews from our customers. We can’t thank you enough for giving us such a warm welcome. ❤️

What has become clear is that with a slight change in direction, we have a real opportunity to create something special — a bistro that becomes a valued part of our community for many years to come.

We’re sorry to anyone who was planning to visit us over the next couple of weekends, but we promise it will be worth the wait.

This isn’t a step backwards — it’s the start of an exciting new chapter for The Bistro at Shiels, and we can’t wait to share what’s coming next.
