❤️ £1,000 donated. Two locations. More lifesaving equipment for Shaw. ❤️
Back in January 2026, local Councillor Lisa Navesey donated an incredible £1,000 from her Ward Budget to Defibrillators Save Lives.
Lisa had a clear goal, she wanted that funding to help provide more lifesaving equipment for the residents and visitors of Shaw.
DSL held the funds in trust, ready to procure, install and help look after two new community defibrillators.
Fast-forward a few months… and that is exactly what has happened!
With Lisa’s funding providing the foundations, and further fundraising and support from our amazing local community, the remaining money was raised, the equipment was ordered and both projects became a reality.
❤️ The Morning Star Shaw - £500 of Lisa’s funding
❤️ Farmers Choice Quality Butchers - £500 of Lisa’s funding
Both locations now have their defibrillator AND emergency bleed kit installed and registered, ready to help in an emergency.
Both defibrillators are registered on The Circuit, the national defibrillator network managed by the British Heart Foundation. This means North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust can identify and direct someone to this lifesaving equipment when a suspected cardiac arrest occurs nearby.
That £1,000 hasn't just bought equipment.
It has helped create two more points of emergency support within our community, available when somebody could be having the worst day of their life.
A HUGE thank you to Councillor Lisa Navesey for having the drive to make this happen, and to every single person, business and supporter who helped raise the additional funds needed to get both projects over the line.
This is what happens when councillors, local businesses, charities and residents all pull in the same direction.
More equipment. More coverage. More lives protected. What a community we have here in Shaw and beyond!
