Janette Howarth | the confectionery artiste My fondest memories of childhood are of helping my mother, in her scullery-sized kitchen, to bake the tastiest cakes and biscuits.

These memories have lingered and transpired into my own avid fascination with the arts of baking and confectionery making. I have been designing and preparing occasional cakes for over twenty-five years. My favourite area of interest is in crafting and sculpting complex caricature figures in sugar paste icing, such as cartoon characters and celebrities. I have particular experience in creating uni

que, customised figures to decorate cakes to specification, for example by using photographs and memorabilia as inspiration to craft caricatures of friends and loved ones. I have been trained by exceptionally skilled master bakers and confectionery makers from the renowned Slatterys in Manchester. This training has culminated in me attaining the prestigious Master Certificate in Cake Decorating and Confectionery Art.
