Meet the Heart Behind Mamoyo’s Kitchen ❤️

Hi, I’m Prettie, the chef and founder of Mamoyo’s Kitchen, an event catering and private chef service.
Inspired by my Zimbabwean roots and my mum — Mai Prettie — who taught me the power of cooking from the heart.

The name Mamoyo comes from my Totem “Moyo,” meaning heart, which perfectly represents what we do — serve food from the soul (Chikafu Chepamoyo).

What started as a hobby and a few dishes for my church and friends soon grew into a full catering business that celebrates African and Caribbean flavours.
We’re all about taste and soul over trends — giving people a true taste of Africa, wherever they are.

Fun fact: I actually started as a baker, but my love for food and flavour took over — maybe because I could never follow a recipe without adding my own twist (and a little extra seasoning 😋).
