Cheese with Claire

Happy new year!

Andrew came to work for me for a day a few weeks ago and I love this pic that my brilliant photographer friend Brian Slater caught after we spent over two hours creating cheeseboards for 100 guests!

So excited for the next year of Cheese with Claire. If you're not sure if I can offer something for you, just ask! My aim is to bring brilliant British cheese to you and your guests and I can do that in many ways:

* Ticketed cheese tasting masterclass at your venue
* Private cheese tasting masterclass in your home
* Food and drink festival demo tent activity
* Individual cheeseboards for your event - outdoor concerts, weddings, sports
* Cheese and alcohol pairing masterclasses with
* Cheese and non-alcoholic drink pairings
* VIP receptions

If it's not listed, I just haven't thought of it! Let me know your ideas and we can make it work.

No resolutions here, I just wish everyone a peaceful and successful year ahead. 🧀🧡

❄️🍰 Winter afternoon tea ❄️🍰

Braved Manchester on the pre Christmas weekend to have afternoon tea yesterday, and it was totally worth it!

has afternoon tea in the beautiful Winter Garden between the restaurant and bar, and with the trees and twinkles it was magical.

Refuge always delivers on the food, but this was really delicious. And can we take a mention for the crockery too (I even searched for it on the way home. But at £40 per plate, don't think I'll get a set soon!).

And just as we slumped in the comfy over sized armchairs , full to bursting, the hot chocolate arrived - a very nice seasonal touch!

There's so very meh afternoon tea out there, but this is a solid 10/10 from me.

🎄🧀 Christmas cheese at Postcode🎄🧀

Wednesday was a hoot as I hosted a Christmas cheese tasting masterclass at the Postcode in Wigan.

Thank you to everyone who came along, including my sis who basically ran around like my unpaid skivvy - love you sis! 😘

What we enjoyed:

🧀 Roll Right

We talked about Christmas accompaniments, voted our faves, chatted about where to buy it locally, scoffed and had a great time.

Everyone gets their own mini cheeseboard containing five wonderful British cheeses. As well as learning all about the cheese we are tasting, I'll be sharing tips on creating and serving your perfect cheeseboard at your parties over the holidays.

Thursday was wild.
* 100 individual cheeseboards.
* 5 Lancashire cheeses.
* About 17kg of cheese sliced!
* 3 delicious Lancashire accompaniments.
* 1 mayor popped in!
A room of really lovely ladies who asked me to mark Lancashire Day with them the only way I know how...with cheese from their great county!

Rest assured more pics to follow when I get them, but of course I inducted 100 new people into the cult of sniffing your cheese before eating 😂😂

My final event this year is on the 10th of December in Wigan. No Lancashire cheese, but we will be enjoying five beautiful British cheeses to inspire your festive party planning.

Thanksgiving? I don't know her!
Round these parts, tomorrow is Lancashire Day, and the 17kg of Lancashire cheese in my fridge suggests that it is going to be a very good day indeed for one special group.

I can't wait to tell you all about it, but for now simply soak up that view 🤩🧀
