Well w**e lovers it’s Inteternational Pinot Noir Day and I just could not NOT celebrate this fabulously interesting grape! 🍇 🍷

Pinot Noir is a bit of a diva. 😂
Thin skins, fussy about where it grows, and very sensitive to climate. In cooler places you tend to get lighter body, higher acidity and tart red fruit. Give it more warmth and you start getting riper, sweeter-tasting fruit, more body and sometimes higher alcohol. Then soil, altitude, w**emaking and oak add another layer 🤗

If, like me, you’ve dismissed Pinot noir in the last five it another go - you may just not have tried the right one!

Saturday was a day for steak and red w**e 🍷 Blacklock

There’s many red w**es I enjoy but when I’m out at a steak house I do gravitate towards a Malbec and for me it has to be from Mendoza, Argentina.

This one was packed full of juicy red fruits and blackberries with a delicious smokiness to it - delicioso!🍷

What’s your go to red with steak w**e lovers?

Sunday lunch pending… and what w**e to have with a roast chicken? 🤔

I’ve opted for a new w**e I haven’t tried before but one I’m thinking of stocking on Lady Grape. I already have a couple of w**es from this company “Red Hut” - a Pinot Gris and a Sauvignon.

This Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay from the Roy’s Hill sub region is full bodied, with a touch of oak but is all about lots of complexity – it’s beautiful balanced.

I’ll be getting this on my website toute suite! 😍

A bit of fizz and painting last night with special girlfriends before a delicious dinner out!

This Cremant de Bourgogne Moillard-Grivot is a firm favourite of mine. I see it as Champagne’s classy cousin from Burgundy - fine bubbles, golden glow, and a sophisticated smile at a much more palatable price point!

I enjoyed this Spanish brut over the weekend with a girlfriend and immediately added it to my site!
