Those road trips from Lagos towards the western towns had their own special memories.
The moment the car slowed down at a toll gate, the women selling Dodo Ikire would rush over with those little tied packs. Sweet, spicy, sticky—and almost impossible to resist.
We had some very ripe plantain at Cart Afrik, so we recreated that familiar taste instead of letting it go to waste.
