🐥🌿 A Little Farm Update from Abbey Bottom Farm 🌿🐥
Some of you may have noticed that our quail eggs have been a little harder to come by recently. Unfortunately, we’ve made the decision to rehome our lovely quails.
While they were producing plenty of eggs, quail eggs just weren’t proving as popular as our chicken and duck eggs, and we felt they deserved a home where they could be put to better use. The good news is they’ve gone to a wonderful, experienced quail keeper who regularly attends farmers’ markets and uses the eggs in a variety of ways. They’ve moved into a beautiful new setup, and we know they’ll be incredibly well cared for ❤️
But as one chapter closes, another begins! 🦆🐔
Thanks to the growing demand for our duck and chicken eggs, we’ve expanded the flock once again and would like to welcome Alice and Daisy to Abbey Bottom Farm! They were looking for a new home after their previous owner was sadly unable to keep them, and they’ve settled in brilliantly already.
For now, Alice and Daisy have joined Boris and Duchess of Limpington in the little pen at the back of the farm. Some of you may recognise Duchess as the little black-and-green duck who is often spotted enjoying life on the stream. Unfortunately, she developed a limp recently and despite our best efforts, we couldn’t pinpoint the cause. The good news is that after some rest and plenty of TLC, Duchess is doing much better and is due to be reunited with her friends on the stream this Sunday! 🦆💚
And that’s not all… 👀🥚
We currently have 10 eggs in the incubator which are due to hatch any day now! We can’t wait to welcome some fluffy new arrivals to the farm and will be sure to keep everyone updated when they make their grand entrance. 🐣
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our little honesty box and farm eggs. The demand for our chicken and duck eggs has been amazing, and we’re so grateful for all your support. 💚
