And that’s it, the final honey harvest of 2026 is finished.
Plenty of supplies left in the hives for the bees to feed as there’s now very little out there in the way of food.
Started the season with three colonies and ended with seven.
Wet suppers are going back on for the bees to clean the a big sort out and storage for winter.
Acetic acid on order to protect frames in storage from the dreaded wax moths.
It’s still bust time but less worth with the actual bees and more about preparations for over wintering the colonies and equipment.
The season always seems so short.
There’s lots of honey to be jarred up and sold over the coming months so there is plenty to do.

Sometimes it’s tricky to spot the eggs in the bottom of the cells.
It’s easy to mistake the reflections in the bottom of the cells where they’ve been cleaned and ‘polished’ by the bees!
