David Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst gave us one of the greatest comedy partnerships British television has ever seen. As Del Boy and Rodney, they somehow managed to feel completely believable as brothers — whether they were arguing in the flat, chasing another ridiculous scheme, or sharing some surprisingly emotional moments together.

What made it work so well was the chemistry between them. Del Boy’s confidence and constant dreaming mixed perfectly with Rodney’s sarcasm, frustration and awkwardness. Even after all these years, people still quote their lines daily and know entire scenes word for word.

Only Fools and Horses became far more than just a sitcom. It became part of British culture, and these two were at the heart of it all
