Great excitement this week at the shop when we held our 50/50 club draw. 7 lucky winners shared a total prize pot of £1,290!!
It’s always a pleasure to take the winning cheques to our winners and as you can see we captured a couple of happy folk. Malcom Jeffery has been a member of the 50/50 club since 2016 and it’s not his first win and Andy Robson was lucky having only joined in May this year.

🧥COATS FOR UKRAINE! Have you got any good quality, clean, warm coats that you don’t wear anymore? David and Louise Taylor from Kingstone are collecting coats to pass to a Newcastle-under-Lyme group that sends items to Ukraine. Without the much needed air defences, Ukraine is expected to come under heavy bombardment this autumn and winter and there is a need for clean, good quality, warm clothing for displaced people and those without heating. The lorry leaves for Ukraine on 21 September. David and Louise are happy to pick up items from St Peter's Church. So we are collecting items for them in the shop and we will take them to the Church by 10th September and arrange for Louise to pick up from there. We hope you can help. 🙏🏻🤞🏻

Important information! We only sell eggs from Sam's Hens at Marchington Shop so all our customers can feel confident about the quality & safety of the eggs they buy from us. See the post below. BUY LOCAL BUY BRITISH 🇬🇧

Unfortunately, you may have seen the recent news about people becoming ill after consuming IMPORTED eggs. As mentioned in a previous post, there has been a surge of (cheap) imported eggs into the UK recently, and not all of those countries sending eggs to the UK work to the same high standards as UK egg producers.

We’d like to reassure our customers that, as UK egg producers, we operate under the UK National Control Programme for Salmonella. This includes regular Salmonella monitoring (with our latest test on 13th August returning ‘not detected’), as well as strict annual audits by APHA officials to ensure we continue to meet the required Salmonella control standards.

If you’re ever unsure about the country of origin of your eggs, look at the stamp.

The number is the method of production 1=free range
UK=produced in the UK
Unique producer number will follow 20384 in our case

Our plants from Rooted are selling very well so we are lucky that Tom regularly replenishes our stock! These Dahlias, Zinnias, Geraniums and Snapdragons will brighten up you pots and borders!
