Happy Easter everyone. What a lovely scene to greet me this morning ♥️Except in the fickle world of sheep..this isn't her mum? Whilst caring for this lamb snuggling it from the wind this ewe is actually days away from lambing herself. The actual mum and lamb are now reunited and the lamb is having a lovely suckle. As always in life.. never assume 🐑🐑

I went to County Hall to attend the Scrutiny meeting today as a visiting member as they prepare to conduct a short focussed inquiry into recent water failures.

I asked for the scope to be widened to include;
-making sure that livestock are built in to the priority future resilience plans.
-separating the impacts into rural and urban areas as many of the placement of emergency water stations were too far from our villages and took too long to access, especially given our poor public transport links.

I didn’t seek to predetermine the outcome of their review but underlined that communication, responsibilities for communication and communication in a timely fashion was extremely weak and needed to be improved by the water companies for future emergency planning.

I had lots of cross party supportive comments and I welcome the results of the inquiry, which as I understand it will be reported back to the committee in May.
