Well… 28 degrees Celsius definitely wasn’t what I saw coming today! The breeze and clouds were very deceiving!

While the heat is lovely, the cakes and markets really don’t like it, so we were hoping for a few cooler days!!

Anyhow, thank you so much to everyone who came to see us today at Court Farm Butchery & Country Larder Market. It was a lovely day, as always, and we really appreciate every single one of you who stopped by! ❤️

Thank you, and we’ll see you all next month!

And don’t worry… I’ll make sure we bring Cherry Bakewell Shortbread!

1st September 🌻

We are choosing to see September as a fresh start.

A new month.
A new season.
A new chapter.
New hopes, new dreams and hopefully some exciting new times ahead.

But I’m also a little sad, because September means the end of my beautiful sunflowers. 🌻
They have a special meaning to us, and seeing them slowly come to an end is bittersweet. But perhaps that’s what makes them so beautiful, they remind us that even though some things come to an end, it also makes room for something new to begin.

Here’s to September. 🌻🍂

Sorry it's taken a while!!

Recently, we did our How Well Do You Know Your Bakers? quiz… and WOW, it was certainly interesting reading through the answers!!

We came to establish that we clearly don’t share enough about ourselves!The majority of the answers were incorrect, so either we’re keeping our cards very close to our chests… or we need to start talking a little more! - John says I certainly don't need to do that!

The ONE thing I think we can all agree on is that I definitely go on about my desire to make doughnuts far too much!

It has also got me thinking about doing a little Questions & Answers so you can get to know us better, who we are, how we work, what goes on behind the scenes, and maybe even some of the things you’ve always wondered about us and the bakery!

So, if you have any questions you’d like to ask, or any ideas for things you’d like to know about us, let us know! We’d love to hear them.

And finally, a HUGE thank you to everyone who joined in with our little bit of fun. We loved reading your answers!

We don’t get over that way often, and I know lots of you come specifically for our gluten-free goodies, so I’m hoping you’ll love this menu! ❤️

We to get our baking planned, as we have mid week markets and other things going on this week, so pre-orders must be in by 5pm tomorrow (Monday) — Bank Holiday or not! 😅

We genuinely can’t thank you all enough. ❤️

We’ve never shied away from being honest about the struggles. Things have been tough, but we’ve always been willing to work hard, adapt, and keep pushing forward.

This weekend, you showed up for us when we needed you most.

Saturday at Somali Farm Country Market — wet, windy, and still incredible support.

Today at Cliftonville Farmers Market — absolutely unbelievable. Every savoury item SOLD OUT by 10:30am! We went home with ONE cookie!

The support shown to Borgyn and Bakes stocking our items was again phenomenal.

This weekend gave us the little bit of hope and reassurance we needed.

Let’s hope it’s the start of better times.
